England Tour Of Bangladesh 2010

Agreed. Bresnan's average with the ball, bat and in the field, yet seems to have a good game every so often that keeps him in the side. Napier, Plunkett and Onions would be much better options. I personally can't wait till we get Fred and Jimmeh back, attack looks dire without them.

Plunkett showed good signs when I saw him all those years ago. Back then I remember he swung the ball which is always a sign of a bowler with potential. I kinda feel he didn't get enough of a chance. Since he's young he shoulda been given a bit longer to develop. After being away from England for a while he's probably developed his game so now maybe it's time they go back to him.

:laugh Love the opening spell for the 2nd opening seamer, gets 1 over and Bangladesh are immediately into the spinners. Be interesting to see how Kieswetter opens up against spin.

Now that is what you call a nervy start for Kieswetter. He's normally pretty decent against spin, although he needs the confidence to get his feet going to it.

That should of been given.

Yep, should have been out twice to Shakib already. Confident start :laugh The boundary off Mortaza was nice though, hopefully he'll make the most of his luck.

Nice start for Cook. Just hoping he doesn't make 2 big scores which sees us ending up with Strauss and Cook opening in ODi's for England.

I disagree. He is much more comfortable with the ball coming onto the bat. He's excellent hitting the ball down the ground from spin but he isn't able to work the ball that easily. That's why I think this tour will be one of the toughest in his career.

And if Pietersen was given out caught then that is a bad decision. Don't think he edged that at all.

Brilliant innings from Cook, hopefully he can keep going and silence his critics with a ton.

You disagree with what? Me saying that he can play spin? I didn't say he was better or worse than against pace bowlers. Unless you're suggesting that he doesn't have the first clue against Spinners, which would be bizarre.

The English commentators don't seem to know about the dew. England will win this comfortably. Playing under lights in Bangladesh should be banned.

Well, I don't disagree per say, that's just what came to my head as I started to write. I was more suggesting that I thought he was a better player of pace and therefore explaining why he struggled today. I don't think there are many/any international batsmen who aren't 'pretty decent against spin' otherwise they wouldn't be playing international cricket.

Cook going very well i hope He'll carry on

Way to jinx him. :laugh

Hawk-eye says not out, but he's gone. We're in real trouble now. Wishing we'd picked Trott in place of Prior now, would have had Colly walking in now with Trott still in and Morgan to come still. As it happens, we're now reliant on Colly and Morgan.

I really don't see the difference in that appeal to the other three of four that were turned down. That's pressure on the umpires for you. They should be consistent and not crack because the Bangladeshi's have appealed hard on several occasions.
