Tea @ Day THREE

Pakistan head for tea on this third day of the first test match at 77-4, still needing another 349 runs to win. England on the other hand need to pick up six more wickets to go up 1-0 in this 3 test match series.

England have had a better session so far, dismissing four Pakistani batsmen, and all good ones. Giles got the first breakthrough, picking up Afridi's wicket, before Inzamam was run out by Steve Harmison. Yousuf Youhana and Younis Khan were both dismissed by Matthew Hoggard in what was an excellent over for both Hoggard and England.

For Pakistan, Taufeeq Umar has looked good so far, scoring 32 runs from 83 balls with 5 boundaries. He is probably the only one who has waited for the bad delivery and dispatched it to the fence. Some positives for the home side, in a yet another disappointing session for them.

Breaking NEWS....

Cricket Australia announce 3 match ODI series between Australia and England

sigart8rw.jpg

England will travel down under to play three one day internationals against
their Ashes rivals Australia, CA and the ECB have confirmed today. This is
pretty much in reply to the three additional ODIs Australia played in
England in the summer's Natwest Challenge.

The three matches will be played between the 2nd and 3rd test matches between
Australia and South Africa, with the home side getting just one day's rest
before the third and final test match begins.

22nd December - 1st ODI - Melbourne (MCG)
23rd December - 2nd ODI - Melbourne (Telstra Dome)
24th December - 3rd ODI - Sydney

The series is being sponsored by CA's official ODI sponsors, VB and the
3 match series will be called "THE VB CHALLENGE".

Stay tuned for the reactions of both teams to the sudden announcement of this series.

In the meantime we will head back to Multan for 1st test match between Pakistan and England.

Wow, should be great stuff in Aus! Are you playing any ODI's against Pakistan?
First of all I would like thank you for showing continued interest in my thread, even though this match has been very one sided so far.

Answering your question, yes, I will be playing five ODIs against Pakistan, the details of which can be found in the start of this thread.

Cheers.

Well the final session of play is in progress and England fast bowler Steve Harmison has suddenly delivered a lot of high bouncers.

Giles strikes again!!

Giles gets the breakthrough again!
Ashley Giles has just dismissed the dangerman Taufeeq Umar, after the Pakistani opener mistimed a sharp turning delivery and hit it straight to Marcus Trescothick at square leg.

The celebrations have started already!! The barmyarmy can be heard loud and clear right now!!

But it aint over till the fat lady sings.

Pakistan 93-5
Taufeeq Umar c Marcus Trescothick b Ashley Giles 38

I think the fat lady may start singing with the barmyarmy already! Pakistan is in a hopeless position.

Giles and Sharp Turning? :p
Anyways, nice thread. Sadly Pakistan lost :(

m_vaughan, maybe you should use the idea I invented to get proper line ups for oppositions. We might be able to savage a win then.

Razzaq GONE

England near victory as Razzaq departs
England have come within 4 wickets of victory after James Anderson had Abdul Razzaq caught by Michael Vaughan for 37.

Not many home fans can be seen now in the stands, and the barmyarmy have gone wild!
