Iam gonna criticize this story in one way...

..Its taken so damn long just to play a few days of the first Test!
First day was half a year ago

My favourite peice of technology has been the Snick-O-Meter.

This story puts quality over quantity. The effort put by gamerkid in each of his updates is incredible. And even though the match progresses its definately worth the wait.

Gamer and Suren have revolutionalised the way stories are presented on this site.

Bag on the point there , Gamer's work has been exceptional to say the least. I personally know him working out for hours to get the GFX stuff and all the technology in place for the update. It is indeed a marvellous effort.

Let me just say congradulations to Gamer for coming second in PC awards story threads! :happy
You got 14% of votes and thats a fair heap compared to how it was in a few categorys.

Congrats Gamer for coming 2nd in the race, still i belive he really deserve :) but when we have two legends in story making its pretty hard to choose any one . Gamer has been doing an excellent stuff for the story and he will continue the same , but this time with much more Blast :happy

Thanks Guys for loving my story so much. You are really encouraging me to do more and more good and innovative stuff. As Sid said this story puts quality over quantity and surely the quality will keep on increasing with the number of updates.

Last wicket partnership frustrate Australia

With England in real spot of bother trailing by 149 runs and the with the tail exposed it was an easy job for Australia to pick up the final 3 wickets and get a huge 1st innings lead in this test match. Glenn McGrath was brought back in the attack and straight away he found the outside edge of Hoggard's bat but Hoggard was lucky as the ball was just wide of Ponting at 3rd slip. These runs are crucial for England as every run is vital as England will get close to Australia's 1st innings total. McGrath then bowled a short ball but the ball didn't bounce as expected and it came off Hoggard's glove and the ball went in the air and then in the safe hands of D.Martyn. That was really an unlucky way to get dismissed but the pitch has unexpected bounce right from day1 and this unexpected bounce will be more on day4 and day5.

S.Harmison was the next batsman for England. Harmison is good with the bat and can sneak in with few runs. Harmison tried to defend a top spinner bowled by Warne but the ball took the inside edge on the pads and Hayden took a stunning catch at short leg. England are in trouble now with 284 runs on the board with 9 wickets down and a huge cheer from the crowd as Monty Panesar comes to bat. Meanwhile G.Jones is batting nicely and he is picking up some important runs for his team but still England are well short of the Australian total of 419 runs.

Now it was not wise to spend some time at the crease instead England were looking for some quick runs. Jones was very confident with the bat and was picking up the odd boundaries but the real excitement came when Monty was also getting some runs. Monty was going for everything and was lucky for couple of times as the ball missed the outside edge of the bat and also if he out the outside edge the ball didn't carry to the slip fielders. Australian's were frustrated by this last wicket partnership and Monty was went over the top on the legside and smashed a brilliant boundary. The Australians were even more frustrated as Monty edged the last ball before lunch and the ball went between the 3rd slip and the gully region and Monty to pick up 3 runs. England lost 4 wickets in this session but still the last wicket partnership between G.Jones and Monty is going well for them which has resulted in 22 runs with Monty scoring 14 runs. Still Australians have the upper hand in this test match as they still lead by 113 runs and they will be looking to quickly picky up the last England wicket and then bat in the 2nd innings.

England : 306/9 (84 overs) Trail by 113 runs.

G.Jones : 26*(47) 4 Fours
M.Panesar : 14*(22) 1 Four

Australia : 419/10 (107.4 overs)

Monty batting well. Seems that GoJo isn't hogging the strike so try and shield Monty. Good to see he has some faith in the number 11 batsman. Monty edging a couple of balls. Good stuff there, GK!

GK, what difficulty are you doing this on? And you are only controlling England right? You got hotspot on Harmison's wicket? :p

Playing on Hard difficulty. And i didn't took the screens for hotspot on Harmison's wicket will look for more screens on hotspot soon.:) .

Go Monty!! Time for his 100, oh wait GoJO would never last long enough for that

Can you tell me us the secret? :p

England doing bad but Monty batting good, i really cant see England winning the game form this position because Aus will probably get a wicket soon and bat fast to post a big chase for England but a reachable one so England will go for it and give Aus chance to take wickets..
