In the Husseey screenie where he is going back to the pavillion his wicket is taken by Monty and not by Harmison!

Great presentation! Good batting by Punter and support by Hussey!

Go England!

Thanks for pointing that out, i will correct that in just a moment. :)

The 3rd Man's Chat
: Final Session

davidgower4hm.jpg
David Gower : Hello and Welcome to The 3rd Man's Chat for the final session show of the day. Australia are in total command at this stage with a huge lead of 331 runs and still 6 wickets in hand. Aussies will be looking to score somewhere around 350 and with 6 wickets left 400 is possible so that they will get a lead of 500 runs. England were not brilliant with the ball today but they picked up 4 Australian wickets but Ponting and Hussey did all the damage when it mattered the most. With me in the studio are Geoffrey Boycott,M.Nicholas and Naseer Hussain. Lets hear from our cricketing experts about their views and opinions about the days play.

Mark Nicholas : Aussies were very good today both with the bat and the ball. They bowled England out for 318 runs and now they are already leading by 331 runs. Surely the match is going Australia's way at the moment and with Ponting still at the crease we can expect more runs from him tomorrow. Ricky Ponting played a captains knock today with a brilliant century and his innings is turning out to be a match winning innings. He played all textbook shots and never played the spin of Monty Panesar well. At one stage he was smashing lots of boundaries and was scoring better than run-a-ball. He was stronger behind square on both sides of the wicket and anything on the legs was smashed to the boundary.

G. Boycott: Well Ricky Ponting was really brilliant with with batting and played a classy knock. England bowlers had no clue how to take his wicket and instead kept on bowling terrible line an length sometimes. Hussey also played an important role along with Ponting as he scored a such needed half century and got a hundred run partnership with Ponting. Hussey's innings was similar to Ponting's knock. Both the batsmen waited for the ball to come on the bat as all the batsmen were struggling due to unexpected bounce. Hussey scored 41 runs behind square and only 15 runs in front of square. England did a huge mistake as they never had a third man in place when Hussey was batting. Finally Hussey's knock came to a sad end as Bucknor declared him out lbw but the ball was clearly missing the stumps.

N.Hussain: The 4th wicket partnership was the most important partnership for Australia and it came at the right time as Australia were 3 down and England could have easy capitalized with another wicket. Both Ponting and Hussey were very cautious in their stroke making and were scoring runs at a good rate as well. The 4th wicket partnership between Hussey and Ponting resulted in 113 runs off 137 balls. Hussey scored 56 runs of those while Ponting scored 57 runs in just 41 balls. This partnership has put Australia in the driver's seat in this match and still Australia have a chance to get a lead of 450. Monty should get quick wickets tomorrow and that is the only chance England have at this stage.

David Gower : Thank You gentlemen for your wonderful expert analysis. Time to take a short break, Fan's Corner is coming up next . Stay Tuned .

I agree. Superb graphics and great analysis. You make the impossible possible! Brilliant works mate!

That certainly was a quick fire partnership! Shows how bouncy the pitch is with most runs being scored behind square and very little down the ground. Shame most of our players come at the ball rather than wait for it and play behind square!

Incident 1 :Pietersen and Flintoff lost their wickets early in the day and Monty does the trick with the bat

Pietersen's wicket : Animated Hawkeye

Treva: Big wickets of the dangerman. One of them should have gone on to make a big score. Now it's down to the mighty power of Hoggard's defense to guide us to a decent target.

great batting from Monty and G.Jones. Poor from the others though really, should of had more resistance! 113 runs is a long way behind. Need a special performance from the bowlers now...

handsome: Poor batting England hope they bat the same way agaist India. Kevin and freddie should have continued. A huge first innings lead awaits Australia

Phil123: GoJo really has to come to the party here, after Flintoff gave his wicket away poorly. Australia right on top with Warne to bowl in the 4th innings.

Monty!! Now if Jones can stay at the crease, Monty will guide England to 400.:p This last wicket partnership has been crucial

THE BARMY ARMY: Yeah the tail needs to bat very very well now

Leicester Fox: Go Monty!! Time for his 100, oh wait GoJO would never last long enough for that

RoboRocks: GoJo will need some runs now to get England anything competitive.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WorldChampions: Jones and Monty both going well, though i think Aussies will wrap up this soon

Gilly Fan: Monty batting well. Seems that GoJo isn't hogging the strike so try and shield Monty. Good to see he has some faith in the number 11 batsman. Monty edging a couple of balls.

Feelin Blue?: England in a bad position here.

England doing bad but Monty batting good, i really cant see England winning the game form this position because Aus will probably get a wicket soon and bat fast to post a big chase for England but a reachable one so England will go for it and give Aus chance to take wickets..

Left_Hander: Australia are well on top. Lee is back to his damaging best. England should get out well before the Australian score.

=======================================================================================

Incident 2 :Good start for Aussies in 2nd innings

Ponting scores 50
125cq9.jpg

handsome: Austarlia in a comfortable position here.

Treva: Australia in a strong position leading by nearly 200. Need a miracle from Panesar, Flintoff and co to bowl them out with them only leading by 350 odd...

PhilD123:Aussies in a very strong position despite those two wickets. Great knock from Punter so far, he'll get a hundred.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WorldChampions: Aussie in strong position , alraedy leading 197 runs England need to strike soon, before its too late . Punter once again looking good

Gilly Fan:Great stuff from the Aussies. Poundin to poms to all parts of the ground.

Feelin Blue?:Good early wicket for the pommys but they didn't captilise on all the chances they had early when Hayden and Ponting were unsettled. They payed and good partnership from Ponting and Hayden but very good wicket for Monty. Although Aus are dominating considering they already have a lead.

Hooper: Yes, the Aussies in cruise control now with Punter on 50 already! Monty wont get many more This Test is lookin good for the Aussies!

Incident 3 :4th wicket partnership taking the game away from England

Ponting scored century

4th wicket partnership
147ts0.jpg

Treva: Australia on top. Shocking decision by Bucknor to give us glimmer of hope. Panesar needs to bowl a few more of them beauties if England are gunna win this one...

That certainly was a quick fire partnership! Shows how bouncy the pitch is with most runs being scored behind square and very little down the ground. Shame most of our players come at the ball rather than wait for it and play behind square!

Jaztheman:Wow good score by Aussies and they are in controlling seat, interesting to see how it maps out.

PhilD123:Another fantastic session for England, absolutely no chance that we'll chase 300+ and that has already passed. Warne will rip through us on days 3 and 4.

RoboRocks:Gilchrist, Warne and Lee to come and it all looks bleak for England.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gilly Fan: That was a big breakthrough to get Hussey a couple of overs before stumps. The key for Australia is Ponting. If he goes early, England are a massive chance of victory. If he goes on and bats until lunch or tea, I can see the game slipping from England. Monty Panesar is the key.

Feeling Blue?: Australia batting very good. Panesar doing good though
Great century for Punter, Hussey unlucky to go. Really bad decision there by Bucknor.
