There is no chance for England. All are now on KP. But there is no hope. Warney will get remaining 3 wickets.

Nice presentation GK. Keep it up.

Australia thrash England by 247 runs to take a 1-0 lead

Australia have demolished England to win the opening Ashes Test by 247 runs on the fifth day at Brisbane to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match 3 mobile Ashes series. After lunch break when England were struggling at 202/7, Australia needed only 6.5 overs to complete a clinical demolition of England's second innings. Shane Warne picked two more wickets after lunch before Brett Lee picked up the final England wicket. Shane Warne finished with magnificent seven wickets in the innings, while only Kevin Pietersen showed any defiance, reaching his second half-century of the match.

After the lunch break, the only hope remained for England was Kevin Pietersen who was still batting on 43 runs and had an impossible task ahead of him to protect the tail for two sessions. Brett Lee was introduced in the attack to wrap up the England innings quickly but he bowled on Pietersen's pads which allowed him to help it for two consecutive boundaries bringing up his second half-century of the match. This half-century came at a quicker rate for Pietersen than in the 1st innings and is looking in a good touch in this series perhaps we may see a big knock from him in the remaining matches of the series.

Warne continued his magic after lunch as he managed to find a way through Pietersen's defence. England lost their last hope as Pietersen was bowled by Warne for 52 runs. England lost their 8th wicket while Warne picked up his 6th wicket of the innings. Talking about record Shane Warne has a chance to break his own record of his best bowling figures (8/71) against England at the same ground in 1994 which are his best bowling figures in Ashes. He needs two more wickets to achieve this milestone.

Matthew Hoggard held up Australia's charge for precisely one ball that he faced after lunch as he was caught behind by Gilchrist to Warne's slider. Warne got his 7th wicket of the innings and was just one wicket away from his best bowling figures in an innings. Warne came within a whisker of his fifth wicket as a ball brushed past Steve Harmison's off stump. Brett Lee finished things off as Monty edged one to Hayden at second slip giving Australia a famous commanding victory in the Ashes.

Shane Warne finished with a match winning figures of 24 overs 14 maidens 22 runs and 7 wickets with an ecomony rate of 0.91 rpo. He failed to break his own record of best bowling figures of 71/8 but he will be happy that he played a big role in winning this match for Australia. Australia have now taken a 1-0 lead in this five-match 3 mobile Ashes series by beating England by a huge margin of 247 runs.

Poor batting display really after Pietersen no one made any effort, good win for the Aussies though...

Nice work btw!

Good game and win by Australia though I expected KP to reach a magical century. ;) Tough game for England. Its time for them to refresh this bad loss.

Big win for Aus. Warney was unplayable and that's why he is the greatest bowler of all time! Brilliant work Gamer...

Big win for Australia. They completely dominated the game and deserved to win. Great last game for Shane Warne in Gabba too. 7 wickets in 24 overs and just gave away 22 runs.

Marvellous win for Australia. Warney working his magic and reaping the results. Australia should be very confident going into the second day.

Awsome stuff Gamer, it's sad seeing England not putting up a fight against the Aussies. But i guess it's the dominance we have.

Superb stuff Gamer! Sad to see England didn't put up a good fight. Warne bowled brilliantly though. Superb works Gamer. Best of luck for the Second Test Match. :)
