England Lost Both The Openers Early In The Innings

England are in some spot of bother as they lost both the openers inside 10 overs of their innings. Run Rate was slow in the start but when A.Cook came and played a few shots and got the run rate close to 5 rpo at the end of the first 10 overs .C.Vaas and L.Malinga are bowling good line and length and due to the slowness of the wicket batsmen are finding it difficult to score in boundaries. England only managed to score two boundaries in 10 overs which shows how difficult the batsmen are facing to score runs.

Chances were there in the 1st over as Trescothick went for the drive and was early on the shot . He was not at all in control of the shot and played an uppish one handed drive. Luckily for England the ball went in between the two fielders and the batsmen managed to pick up 2 runs .Trescothick was off the mark. Vaas needed more attacking field and was having a chat with the captain to get in short extra cover .

England were finding it difficult to score runs so they decided to get quick singles . Trescothick was looking confident now and was reading the bounce and pace of the wicket nicely. A.Strauss played on with soft hands in the cover region and called for a single staright away . But T.Dilshan was quick enough to get pick up the ball and throw towards the bowlers end but missed the stumps .Strauss was lucky to survive bocz he was well short of his ground and if the ball would have hit the stumps then he was back back to the pavillion .

England finally called managed to score a boundary.Trescothick went for the front foot drive and edged that one .the ball went over the slips and went for a boundary. It was Trescothick's first boundary of the innings .Then A.Strauss went for a cover drive but mistimed it and the ball was in the air for sometime and it was a chance for the cover fielder. U.Tharanga was the man is the covers and he dived full length but the ball didn't stick in his hands and the catch was dropped .

SriLanka finally got the braekthrough as Trescothick was run out by Dilshan .Strauss played in one and was the one to call for a single but Trescothick was slow to start and eventually was ran out by Dilshan for jusy 10 runs .England were in trouble as they had started the innings slowly and they lost the dangerman Trescothick with just 18 runs on the board .

Animated Run Out :

A.Strauss soon followed Trescothick back to the pavillion in the next over .Vaas was bowling outswingers to Strauss and then the 4th ball of the over he pitched on up and it went straight without any movement .Strauss missed that completely and it struck him in front of the stumps .SriLankans appeal confidently and there was no doubt in the Umpire's mind to give that one out . Strauss was gone for just 10 runs. But hawkeye confirmed that it was just missing the stumps but it was a tight one.
A.Strauss's wicket : (10 Runs 14 Balls )

England : 49/2 (10 overs)
A.Cook : 17 (24) Not Out 1 Four
M.Trescothick : 10 (17) 1 Four
A.Strauss : 10 (14)
Current Run Rate : 4.9 rpo

C.Vaas : 5-0-25-1
L.Malinga :5-0-22-0

England still require 230 to win off 40 overs at 5.75 rpo

Note : If the animation takes too much time the right click on the image and click view image then i will work properly.

Looking good gamer.

love the tv style hawkeye and dartfish. Keep up the good work

hey this is not fair.... how can umpire cheat..... collect 100% of the match fee from him as its captain's wicket!!!:D good presentation!!!

As long as KP is there, i wil go with England!!! :D

Eek, England in trouble - no thanks to the umpire though :(

Brilliant animations once again Gamerkid - this story will get my vote come Story of the Month :D

Wow! The animated dartfish and hawkeye are awesome! :)
Great work gamerkid.

Also good to see the captain is out now. :)

It means Dilshan touched the wicket with his throw.. sangakara didnt roun out him.. it was a direct throw.. silly questions punk :p, common sense :D

When a keeper removes the bail for a run-out, it isn't credited as his run-out. The fielder who throws it is credited with the run-out.

it says runout Dilshan doesnt Sangakara keep wicket?

coz in scorecards Sky Sports give only the name of the fielder who throws the ball and not keeper/bowler who takes the bails off.......so its run out Dilshan and not run out Sangakara as only the fielder is given credit.....if u will see others like Channel 9 the u will see like this run out Sangakara/Dilshan.Hope taht its clear :D

Not the best start for England, although the RR is still good. Lets hope Cook can carry on and get a big score.

Congrats on the 1000 posts.
