David Gower : Hello again and Welcome to The Third Man's Chat . That was a ta good fightback from Zimbabwe but in the end they lost the game. Zimbabwe has shown that they can bat in ODI's now. With me in the studio are Michael Holding and Nasser Hussain . Lets hear from this cricketing experts about their views and opinions about todays match.Well Naseer what do u think about todays match .
N. Hussain : That was certainly a good win for SriLanka but Zimbabwe batted well and everyone thought that they may sneak through in this match but thanks to D.Fernando who got quick qickets and then it was an easy win for SriLanka . Zimbabwe were in a good position at 92/1 in 15 overs but lost wickets in middle but thanks to SriLanka's good score . Jayasurya , Tharanga and Sangakkara got 50's and Jayawardena got 45 which helped SriLanka to get 290 . Sangakkara continued his good form which Jayasurya is back in form now . Jayasurya's Wagon Wheel :
M. Holding :Ofcourse that was good batting by SriLanka but Zimbabwe were also batting nicely and were looking like they are winning this one but thanks to Fernando who got those 4 wickets and got Zimbabwe staight away on the backfoot . Murali went for runs which was quite unsual . But Fernando also went for runs but that time the match was in SriLanka's hands. Zimbabwian tail were in aggressive mood but they also kept on loosing wickets at regular intervals . D.Fernando's Pitchmap :

Ian Botham :Good Evening ladies and gentlemen .......we are here for the presentation ceremony of the 3nd match of the qualifying round of the Champions Trophy 2006 between SriLanka and Zimbabwe .That was some good run scoring game with Zimbabwe giving a fightback but in the end it was SriLanka winning . 1st of all i will request Zimbabwe captain P.Utseya to come forward please .
Well Prosper your team did perform well and the crowd enjoyed that.
P.Utseya:Yes SriLanka got a big score on the board and our openers gave a good start and that was good for us to go along nicely but we lost wickets in the middle .
Ian Botham :A good part for the bowling was that your team gave just 5 extras seems like you have worked on that.
P.Utseya :Yes in the last match we gave too many so in this match we worked on that and practised a lot or else the target would have more for us .
Ian Botham :Good luck for the next match.Hope you perform well against Bangladesh hope you win there.
P.Utseya :Thanks Ian.
Ian Botham :Now i will like to call the winning captain M.Jayawardena on stage................Well Mahela congrajulations for 2 wins in a row.

Congrajulation Dilhara for excellent bowling did u feel the pressere that just 1 wicket was down in 1st 15 overs ?
D.Fernando:Yes a bit but stillit was game on and 35 overs still to go and we knew we are cnetrainly in the game if we get a wicket of two and i just concentrated to owled well.
Ian Botham :Well this is a real confident boost for you for the Champions Trophy ...what are your plans for the whole tournament?
D.Fernando: Well i will just keep it the same way as to bowl straight and the the ball dows a bit and surely i will be using the slwoer balls to just to mix up in the bowling.
Ian Botham :Thanks Dilhara for having a word with a us.
D.Fernando:Thank You
Ian Botham :That concluds the Presentation Ceremony .....Some EXCITING NEWS coming up shortly .......Stay Tuned
Big news for England fans ahead of the Champions Trophy is that England captain Andrew Flintoff who suffered an ankle injury is now fully fit and will bowl in the Champions Trophy .Flintoff said at a pre-match press conference after a practice session, when asked whether he intended to bowl in the tournament:
"I have bowled in the nets over the past two weeks or so, and the ankle has responded well to it."
Team Physio said: " Flintoff is fully fit now and his ankle is also good so now he can surely bowl ".
Flintoff the bowler has been one of the most imaginative and powerful bowlers in the world in recent times. His deceptively quick deliveries, rearing into the rib-cage have posed problems for all sorts of batsmen, including the Australians and he always bowled well against the Indians in India.
This is a huge boost for England ahead of the Champions Trophy .
England will play their 1st match against India at Jaipur.
special thanks to Simbazz for giving me the image as cricinfo was not working for me
:happy yay, Fred back, Giles injured and unable to bowl, can life be any better? Nope, oh unless my house was filled with 50 Paris Hiltons, but thats it!
