West Indies bowled out for 263

West Indies batted poorly on this good batting track and were bowled out by Bangladesh in the end for 263 with 13 balls to spare .That was poor performance by West Indies with the bat and Bangladesh were good with the ball and the bowlers bowled nicely and didn't gave too many runs and in the end they got all 10 wickets of West Indies which is really a world class performance from them. Enamul Haque was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets and Aftab Ahmed got 3 wickets as well as he bowled in the depth.Lets take a look at the positive and negetive aspects of the West Indian innings

Positive Aspects :
+ Chanderpaul got a good qatchful 43.
+ Samuels quickfire 50 helped West Indies to score over 250.
+ Enamul Haque was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets for 55 .
+ Lara score 30 of 12 balls .
+ Bangladesh gave just 6 extras in the whole innings.

Negetive Aspects :
- West Indies batted poorly .
- All the batsmen got in the 20's and gave their wickets away .
- West Indies were bowled out inside their 50 overs.


Openers gave a good decent start to the innings with Gayle getting 21 but he was dismissed by Mortaza but Chanderpaul played well with a good innings of 43 . Chanderpaul was slow to start but then he played well with 4 boundaries and 1 six in his 43 off 87 balls. Surely he wasted many balls in the start but then recovered quickly . He had a partnership going with Sarwan who scored 25 but later they both were back to the pavilion in 2 successive overs.
Chanderpaul's innings:

In the middle of the innings each and every West Indies batmen got off to a good start especially Morton and Bravo but they just threw their wickets away by playing some foolish strokes. Bravo gave catching practise to Rajin Saleh in the covers while Morton played across to an off spinner of Tushar Imran. Lara was in aggressive mood all the way. He scored a brilliant 30 off just 12 balls and was smashing right from the word go but was eventually caught in the deep . In his innings Lara score 6 boundaries and 1 huge six with and 4 dot balls. West Indies were in troble at this stage as they were loosing wickets quickly and the score was also not good . It was looking as if they will not score even 250.

M.Samuels the played a brilliant innings in the depth of 53 of just 31 balls with 11 boundaries and 1 six . He was their with the West Indies lower order and was still playing his shots when wickets were falling at the other end . Aftab Ahmed then got 2 wickets in the 48th over and West Indies were bowled out for 263. That quickfire 50 of Samules gave West Indies a decent score on the board of 263 but its a low score on this track and is chasable . 280-290 would have a good score on this track considering that its a batting track.
Samuels quickfire 50:

West Indies will have to bowl well now and should take quick wickets of the Bangladeshi top order so that they can stay in the match and then finish off with a good win.

As usual you never know with WI, if Gayle fires they are in driver seat otherwise they are struggling. But i don't think Bangladesh will win this one.

Dramatic run chase but in the end 1 team kept their nerve

This is probably the best match of the Champions Trophy's qualifying stage . It cannot get more exiting and more dramatic than this . Bangladesh played excellent cricket and responded to the run chase as they have never done. They were going along with the run rate till the end and got a huge partnership for the 2nd wicket and were all the way in the match . The top order batsmen got good score against the tight bowling of West Indies. In the end there was a good flourish by Rajin Saleh and the match went in the last over . It was truley tight in the last over ....Lara had no options whom to give the last over ...Gayle bowled 2nd last over ...Bradshaw was off the field and rest all completed their alloted overs so he had to give the ball to Samuels and everyone was tensed in the last over as Bangladesh needed 16 to win off 1 over ..... and Samuels has the ball....Lets take a look at what happened till the 49th over .


Positive Aspects :
+ Bangladesh batting like champions.
+ Javed Omar and H.Bashar got 167 runs partnership for the 2nd wicket.
+ J.Omar scored 97 while H.Bashar scored 76.
+ Rajin Saleh is still there and on strike in the last over.
+ D.Smith brought West Indies back in the match after taking 2 wickets in 1 over.

Negetive Aspects :
- West Indies bowled poorly .
- Even Bangladesh played well against their bowling .
- Having performed well in the last match ...West Indies are struggling now.


Everything started in the 2nd over when Bradshaw got the early breakthrough by taking the wicket of S.Nafees in his very first over . Everyone thought that West Indies are going to win this easily as Bangladesh will crumble against the bowling of in form West Indies. H.Bashar joined J.Omar in the middle . Javed omar was in good touch as he got 40 odd runs in the last match against SriLanka and now will look to play well on this good batting track . Javed Omar started well with some good confident strokes and was very watchful in his whole innings . He got to his 50 in style with a brilliant hook shot . Still on one thought that Bangladesh will create any problem to West Indies but J.Omar went on playing well and was determined to get a big one . He played well was cautious with the running between the wickets and was getting a huge partnership with H.Bashar. Javed Omar played a good knock of 97 runs off 127 balls before he was dismissed by D.Smith.
J.Omar's innings:

H.Bashar played a typical captains knock and supported J.Omar with a huge partnership for the 2nd wicket . H,Bashar played with in his wonderful knock of 76 off 113 balls with 7 boundaries and 1 six to the longest part of the ground . Bashar and J.Omar just set the wheels rolling and Bangladesh were nearing to a good victory .
H. Bashar played a captains knock:

The 2nd wicket partnership between J.Omar and H.Bashar yeilded 167 of 232 balls . Javed Omar scored 91 of the partnership while Bashar score 76 runs before getting out to an inswinger of Bradshaw . This the best partnership of the match and also this has added more excitement to the match . Now if the middle order bat well in the final overs Bangladesh may win ....West Indies will have to do something extraordinary to pull this match back in their favour
2nd wicket Partnership:

After Bashar's wicket Bradshaw was off the field as he slipped while bowling which resulted in a muscle pull . But West Indies had more bowlers to play . D.Bravo completed his alloted overs giving away just 38 runs while Taylor also bowled his 10 with 42 runs . D.Smith was given the ball again and he got 2 wickets in an over of J.Omar on 97 and T.Imran on 4. J.Omar missed his century but he has got the match in Bangladesh's favour.Now Rajin Saleh flourished in the end and now back live with the last over remaining with 16 runs to get . M.Samules has the ball .

1st Ball : Samuels to R.Saleh .... played through the covers ...just 1 run ..... 15 req off 5 balls.

2nd Ball : Samuels to T.Imran..... straight to the bowler ...no runs ......15 req off 4 balls.

3rd Ball :Samuels to T.Imran..... gone for the big one ...safely taken by Chanderpaul at long on.......15 req off 3 balls

4th Ball :Samuels to Rajin Saleh.....struck on the pads ....managed to pick up a quick single ........ 14 req off 2 balls.


5th Ball :Samuels to K.Mashud.....Gone for the big one ....one bounce 4 ....10 required off 1 ball ....surely West Indies are winning.

6th Ball :Samuels to K.Mashud.....Gone for the big one again but edged and 4..... West Indies won by 5 runs

That was certainly a nail biting finish ...West Indies kept their never in the end but still they performed poorly ...full marks to Bangladesh as the batted well to win but enentually felt short by 5 runs.

Bangladesh failed to create history here by recording a win in this champions trophy ....but now 1 more match to go for Bangladesh and its against West Indies ....lets see we will surely get a tough match there
