David Gower: Hello and welcome all our viewers around the world to The Third Man's Chat . Last game showed some good batting by Zimbabwe but SriLanka won easily in the end. Today we are here for the 4th qualifying match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2006 between West Indies and Bangladesh .With me in the studio are Michael Holding, Nasser Hussain and Michael Atherton. First we will talk about the West Indies team . Well Michael what do u think how will today's match shape up.

holding2iy.jpg
M.Holding: I think this will be a good contest not like the last match which Bangladesh played . Last match we saw that Bangladesh were unable to play the spin of Murali but they are a good team capable of beating good teams in ODI's as we know they have also beaten Australia once. West Indies are the defending Champions of the tournament and certainly a good team now . They had a comprehensive win over Zimbabwe but Bangladesh are totally different from Zimbabwe . bangladesh have some quality batsmen and quality bowlers .Brian Lara is in terrific form and his last innings of 147 from 126 was awesome and he has all the confidence . But other batsmen of West Indies were struggling as we saw in the last match but i don't think that will happen today as today we have a good batting track .

hussain6nb.jpg
N.Hussain:Today game is like another practise game for West Indies but Bangladesh can create miracles.Bangladesh know the Indian conditions well and its similar to the conditions in Bangladesh. Also it will be good batting track so that might help them as they can bat well on good tracks . Also M.Mortaza is back in the side but M.Rafique is still down with flu and wont play todays game but Enamul Haque is a quality spinner as well. Hope that they have good spirit and play on to win or give a tough one to West Indies.

davidgower4hm.jpg
David Gower: Thank You Gentlemen . Iam Botham is ready for the pitch report down there and there might be some surprises .

Ian Botham: Thank you David . The pitch is hard , flat and is batsman friendly . Really lots of runs to be scored at ball will come on the bat nicely also the ball will spin a bit and this pitch has a perfect bounce . Bowlers will have to keep it dead straight but it will be difficult to get away with the medium pacers but fast bolwers can be easily handled no problems for the batsmen there .According to me the team batting 1st will surely bat and 280 will surely be a winning total.Back to u David.

David Gower:Ian Botham with the pitch report and said that its a true batting paradise and 280 is a winning total here.

larado7.jpg

B.Lara :We will bat first. This seems to a good batting track pitch is really hard and ball with come nicely on the bat looking to score a big total here somewhere close to 300 .

ath5yd.jpg

M.Atherton :What about your team is it same as the last match?
larado7.jpg

B.Lara : No there is a change in the team W.Hinds is oit and M.Samuels in in the team as we get a spinner in the team along with Gayle.

It will be nice to see the Banglas win, but I think the Windies will. Anyway, looking forward to this gamerkid.

Yeh i'm sitting on the fence for this one but it would be nice for Bangla to win but if any of them score a 100 it's done and dusted i feel.

Nice stuff gamerkid. But why did Michael Atherton call Brian Lara, Mahela? :p

actually was my mistake last match ....well i am doing it from Natwest series ...Atherton chatting with Mahela Jayawardena ...so its becoming a habbit for me....but edited now ...will update soon...

P.S. Chanderpaul playing nicely

Not good news for the Bangladeshis that Shiv Chanderpaul is playing well. Banglas need to take regular wickets to win this.

Bangladesh are bowling well down there and West Indies need a good innnings now at the end of the innings .Someone whould come and rescue them

I am ready :p he he..was j/k! :D

I am sure Bangladesh batsmen might not find answers for tall Windies bowlers!! :D I am backing up Winides to win this! :)

but the pitch is batting friendly and if West Indies struggle to get runs then .....Bangladesh have a chance to win but their batting is not as good as compared to West Indies.
