Day 3:
Chairman's XI: 197 and 132 All out
England: 232 All out and 99/1
England win by 9 wickets
England go into 1st Test unbeaten:
Andrew Strauss, Marcus Trescothick and Michael Vaghan all chipped in as England eased there was to victory to continue unbeated into the 5 match test series with Australia. They played well but werent really pressured and just the one wicket was taken after Strauss made a silly mistake. He and Trescothick looked at one point like they would bat out the innings themsleves and didnt look in any real danger of losing their wickets, Strauss was confident as ever and Trescothick was accumilating more runs than normal as they looked to get it over with as quickly as possible. Queensland took their only wicket of the innings when Strauss dragged on unluckily trying to cut Dawes through the off side, he managed 20.
Hook shots galore as Strauss and Trescothick play England to victory (thanks to barmyarmy for Strauss' bat):
Vaughan came to the crease and helped Trescothick on his way to an unbeaten 44 with some excellent cover drives, Vaughan himself scored 20 off 12 balls, now England face the almighty Aussies and the real hard work begins, big things are expected from Steve Harmison who seems to have gotten used to the pitches in Australia, Andrew Strauss who will be out to prove himself as a batsman and as ever the England captain Michael Vaughan, who, admittedly, hasnt scored many runs but has looked in good touch recently, he just needs better shot selection. So bring on the Aus!!!
