Not a fan of Italian football, but cant deny completely with this article. In short, Sky are just smart.

article said:
It has reached the point now where it is obvious that this is a deliberate and dirty ploy to damage the image and integrity of Italian football.

No, it's called selling your product with something that interests your customer.

article said:
even (probably) paying their pundits extra money for uttering this motto as often as possible.

He needs :help

I can't be bothered reading the rest of the article as the first few paragraphs are obvious of the total ignorance of the writer of the article.

To put it simply: The Italian league generates little interest in the UK and thus the only stories that will sell are tasty ones regarding something naughty, rather than an issue about the actual matches, etc.

Italian football doesn't need anyone else to damage its image or supposed "integrity", it does well enough on its own. There isn't a more corrupt football league in the world.

Apparently by saying these things we are the ones who have been "brainwashed".

According to who exactly?

I think the proof of the lack of quality of the Italian league comes in the channel that it's shown. Premier League is shown on Sky. La Liga is shown on Sky. Scottish Premier is even shown on Sky. Serie A is shown on Channel Five. The low of the lows. That's proof enough that the EPL > Serie A. Such a rubbish league, far too defensive, and stupidly corrupt. Everything about the Premier League is superior.

That's hardly an article, it is just a very jealous person on an attack. Sky claim the Premier League is the best league in the world for one reason - because it is. There is absolutely not a shadow of a doubt about it. Italian football is miles behind.

He actually isn't denying that. All he is saying Sky are very smart businessmen. Also its not about nine years, its about a personal experience. United and Juventus do not play each other every year you know.

Plus Italian fans are scum. Racist violent scum. Like Spanish fans.

As for Usmanov, he's a fat Uzbek criminal. Kroenke would be a much more welcome investor not some random who's probably gonna fire the board, get us in to debt, sell our players and basically screw us over.

Obviously I have no proof but he's a rapist and extortionist. Don't need him here.

The previous two Everton UEFA Cup matches were screened on Five. :p

English teams generally play Italian teams at least once a year. The point I was trying to make was that using an example like that is void when it is so long ago.

Look at the so-called "punishment" in 2006. Milan got away scot-free, and I know Juve were relegated, but they weren't the only club involved. And off the pitch:

Just one example, there have been many more over the last 5 or 6 years, and not nine years ago.

Just checked that case from 2006. Initially, Milan, Juve, Lazio and Fiorentina were relegated, in between the original hearing and the appeal, they suddenly became not deserving of relegation (apart from Juve) and all of the other penalties had been heavily reduced.

That is mainly because not all of them committed the same level (or degree) of crime. According to the Calciopoli report, AC Milan's links were not actually part of the club, so it made sense to give them a lesser punishment. It was not "all of a sudden", there were three different hearings.

Juve were easily the biggest crooks, with Moggi directly involved in the phone-calls.

Why were they all relegated in the first place then?

Because it was a straight decision, which did not give AC Milan and their lawyers any time to present their case. It was only in the second hearing (decision) they were allowed to do so. Initial punishments can be blown out of proportion.
