Chelsea conceded a goal to probably the worst striker in the history of the prem. Akibiyi :D

even as a Burnley fan i do agree he is terrible but a good finish last night, and Brian Jensen's save for Mikels penalty was amazing, in the next round an easy home tie against Derby or Watford or a big pay day at Man U or Arsenal

No offence but off a rubbish competition. Well done Liverpool and Chelsea.
It is hardly a rubbish competition. You might not mind sacrificing it for other competitions, but it is silverware to be won and against all of the football league teams. It's a good run out.

Aye. Still a rubbish competition though mind. It's good if you win it like, but it's nothing to write home about.

Would you say the FA Cup is something to write home about? Arguably the FA Cup is poorer quality.

The FA Cup is the greatest domestic cupcompetition in the world. Nevermind it being something to write home about, it's something worthy of getting on the plane and personally telling your home about it.

So, other than some rare flash-in-the-pan non-league teams, a team does exactly the same as they would in the Carling Cup, yet the FA Cup is the 'greatest domestic cup competition in the world' and the Carling Cup is "nothing to write home about"...

Right. I'm trying to figure out how that makes sense.

Yeah that's the point.

The fact that Premiership sides play weakened teams for near enough every much for the CC yet they go all out to win the FA Cup is proof enough that it's far ahead.

And then there is all the traditions of the FA Cup too, a very important cup competition.
