After Torres-Chelsea story started hotting up, they were pretty quick to get the deal done. Should keep Torres now, that's basically what he wanted - reassurance that the club was moving forward. Good signing, albeit too much for suarez i believe (but in grand scheme of things, well worth it to hold on to torres). Can see him flanking Torres in 4-3-3.

Btw just to clear things up, my facepalm for the bale story was a facepalm at inter for bidding such an excessive amount for an over-hyped player.

Great news after the initial shocker from Torres . Now , El Nino should hopefully remain a red as well !! But i am pretty confused regarding the playing XI of Pool with the addition of Suarez .

:lol

Might be something like this (4-3-3) :

--------------------------------------------------REINA---------------------------------------------

KELLY-------------------------SKRTEL (Until CARRA's return)------------AGGER------------------------JOHNSON

---------------MEIRELES-------------------------GERRARD-----------------------------------LUCAS---------------

---------------KUYT-------------------------TORRES-----------------------------------SUAREZ---------------

----------

Or should they opt for a 4-4-2 , then Maxi comes in for Lucas and Meireles goes as CM along with StevieG . Kuyt then returns back as a RWM . But thats a rare case given maxi's poor form coupled with Lucas's brilliance of late .

Perhaps the whole Torres thing about wanting to listen to the offer was just to scare Liverpool's board.

Holloway vows to resign - ESPN Soccernet

This whole situation is ridiculous! Arsene Wenger made 8 changes against Wigan in December and he wasn't in the firing line for doing that. Ian Holloway made 10 and got fined! So, a manager can make 8-9 changes to the team and not 10 or 11!

I guess Ian Holloway was fined because he manages Blackpool and Arsene Wenger manages Arsenal. :facepalm

What Sir Alex said in the news above is absolutely spot on!

Suarez has been bought so the torres deal can be done, liverpool wouldnt sell until a replacement was purchased, torres should be a blue within the next 48 hours.

Seriously?:facepalm:rolleyes

Torres loyalty will be tough to fight and Liverpool won't sell him too easily.

It wouldn't be that wide. It'd be what we're playing now

-------Meireles..........^
Kuyt........................|
---------Torres----Saurez

Either that or Suarez is bought to partner Torres upfront. Anyway, it's better to prepare for possibilities that we won't be bringing anyone in this transfer window. :facepalm

Unless Kenny can convince him to seriously reconsider, I hope Torres leaves. We can't have a player who isn't fully committed to the club in the team. No player is bigger than the club. I hope he gets what he wants and we can cash in big. Thanks for the memories Nando but I can't help but feel you're a traitor. You just said you'd honor your contract and that you were committed 2 weeks ago. I don't see what could have changed in those two weeks as Dalglish has come in an really shaken things up and gotten Liverpool back on track. Sad day tbh. I was so happy after I heard the Suarez news but now I'm just disheartened and slightly disgusted with his behavior. Not only is he not a man of his word, he has so little respect for the club that he would hand in a transfer request so close to the end of the transfer window.

Well you can't blame him tbh. Liverpool won't be playing in the Champions League in the near future and I guess that's what Torres wants.

I guess you missed out on this :

You (Torres) just said you'd honor your contract and that you were committed 2 weeks ago.

I feel the show he is trying to put on is more or less similar to what greedy Rooney did 3 months back !! :facepalm
