Oh, watch MoTD to see Crouchies goal by the way. Messi eat your heart out!

I knew it! I just knew they'd drop points at Stoke - and they've still got to go to Arsenal, Norwich and Newcastle. As I said, City's home wins mean nothing - no matter how 'gritty' - such as the Chelsea game, or 'amazing' - such as the majority of their home games this year. Nope - it's about away for City and away is where they're going to lose the title. :)

I'd feel hard done by if Crouch scored that goal against Spurs haha. Don't think he's ever scored from outside the area before :p

John Flanaghan, the young Liverpool right back looks like the natural heir to previous champions like Luke Chadwick and Iain Dowie...

It's too tight for them to win it for me. They've not been here before and that counts for a massive amount.
They've done a great job to get this close but I can't see other result than Utd closing it out now.

Most of the country hopes you, Norwich, Swansea and Sunderland all do. Probably the most disliked team amongst all my mates at the moment (even people who are just acquaintances).

King Kenny, absolute joke. They play pretty uninspired football, they spent stupid money, they sacked a manager with no time and have a rather large percentage of fans who have no idea of the reality of their current status. I would love it, love it if Everton finish ahead of them.

yeh but we won't.

we just never really get one over on them.

Genuinely debating whether i'd bother going the semi final against them if we beat sunderland as we just have no chance of winning

Swansea and Norwich. Two newly promoted sides finishing ahead of Liverpool that's unheard of:eek:.

In the past it was considered decent just staying up or something, wow. I certainly hope it happens. Plus I'd love to see Newcastle finish at 6th or better yet 5th. They deserve it, they've played some great football and Chelsea and Liverpool certainly don't deserve it with the football they've played this season.

By the way, where are them Liverpool fans :p?

You need someone who'll not be your leading scorer from left-back with 4 goals. Someone like Yakubu... Oh wait...

They've done it playing pretty good football as well. Credit to both their managers.

Lambert's career at the moment is quite literally ridiculous. That whole Colchester to Norwich thing was brilliant.

yeh. think was yakubu was never going to do it at everton again. Shame as I thought he still had the talent before he left, but he'd had a few disciplinary problems and was massively out of favour. he wouldn't have played as well for us as he has for blackburn. I've always liked him, but it was time for him to move on. He's still not as good as he was pre-achilles injury (which was picked up at white hart lane) though.

Jelavic could be the guy. I like his movement and I think he has decent link up play. I was under the impression he had little more to him than an eye for goal when he signed, but so far he has looked like he has a lot more to his game than that. Who knows. We hardly paid a fortune for him (although unfortunately it was still borderline breaking the bank). He's been diving quite a bit which I don't really like. But footballer's gonna football i guess.

Don't know what to say really. Bring on next season and the FA Cup, I guess. I still think Kenny is the man for the job but I hope he comes to his senses soon and stops acting bewildered when Liverpool lose/draw. If it happens 19 times out of 30, it would be an understatement to say there's an elephant in the room.

Picking out the positives, I was impressed with whatever little I got to see of Sterling today. Very promising. Champions League is beyond us this season and Europa League is already assured so maybe Kenny can use the league to give players like him, Suso, Morgan, Coady, Eccleston, etc a real chance.

I don't really get what h was saying about how it wasn't ideal bringing sterling on today.

I literally said to my liverpool supporting house-mate last night (possibly the night before, or even the night they lost to qpr) that with europa league secured through the carling cup and being so far off the pace for 4th it's a good opportunity to give carrol/henderson/flanagan* a solid run in the team while giving other players like sterling a decent amount of game time with no pressure on them.

I think Daglish has come across very poorly in his interviews for quite a while now really. especially in his handling of the whole suarez thing

Well I was on a twitter rampage yesterday, lambasting Kenny for not starting Sterling, especially with European football assured and the PL season turning out to be of little significance following the defeat at QPR... Simply pathetic, Liverpool!
If we don't win the FA Cup from here (which we almost certainly won't), HE SIMPLY HAS TO GO/QUIT!!!

Haven't followed Everton much, so what do you guys make of your new signing, Nikica Jelavic? Asking this considering we were mightily close to securing his signature during the winter transfer window.

Liverpool results in last 7 games Andy
Carroll's started: WWDWWWW ? Last 9
without him: DDDLLLLLL

I didn't think I would say this but Suarez plays better with Carroll. Also, Liverpool's results have worsened once Bellamy started playing less frequently (he's either been on the bench or injured for a while now). It goes without saying that the defence has also looked a lot more shaky without Agger and Skrtel pairing up. Liverpool's defending has been one of the bright spots of this forgettable season. I would also be interested in knowing the average goal attempts, possession, tackles with and without Lucas in the team.

Also, I don't usually watch full Everton games, only MOTD, so what have you made of Drenthe, ste/barmy? And how long do you think you can hold on to Barkley?

Surely United are going drop points in this run in?

Jelavic is a good player but you never really know how good someone is when they've been playing in the SPL. Drenthe is a good prospect for the future; he's still pretty young. Also anyone who doesn't have Baines in their fantasy team, what were you thinking? ;)

Drenthe is mental.

He offers us something the squad really lacks (pace and directness in final third)

but he's mental. Loses the ball a lot and gives a way a lot of fouls. Capable of brilliance but capable of being really frustrating.

As for Barkley I'm not sure about all the hyper. He looked okay in one match and poor every other time i've seen him. I don't think he'll be sold any-time soon unless we get a ridiculous offer that isn't really justified. We've kept rodwell until he is 21 when he played at a similarly young age. Obviously he's still young and has potential, but i think he'll be here for at least another 2-3 seasons regardless of how well he does.
