Pep didn't have an trophies when he got the Barca job though and he's the greatest manager the universe has ever seen across all sports.

Man City have posted a record loss of almost ?200m - and that doesn't take into account the money spent on Aguero et al.

Liverpool rule out Andre Villas-Boas in manager hunt - Telegraph

Villas-Boas, 34, was not on the list of potential managers drawn up by FSG after Kenny Dalglish was sacked.
It was only when the ex-Porto manager urged Liverpool to consider him for the position that he emerged as a serious contender for the role.

How credible is this source (telegraph)? Cos it doesn't make sense that the FSG would consider Martinez and Brendan Rogers for the vacancy role, but not consider AVB! Sounds insane!

Looks like Brendan Rodgers is going to be the Liverpool manager. I'm happy with the appointment. I like his style, although an overhaul is needed to play the type of possession football he likes. I'm not sure how much money he will have so it may be a challenge.

Bold from Rodgers. Liverpool fans won't give him long. Lest we all forget Owen Coyle had Bolton in the top 6 in his first year and was being touted as a potential top 4 boss due to how they played football... A year later we all know how well that went.

Happy with his appointment, but the fact remains that I'm slightly disappointed the FSG didn't go for AVB instead...

Shows how much Liverpool have lowered their sights I guess that a manager whose sole achievement is promotion from the championship is given the job based on the fact his team plays pretty football.

Apparently Rafa topped an online poll regarding who the 'Pool supporters wanted to see appointed...

Will be interested to see if Rogers takes Leon Britton to Anfield with him.
