I forgot I had you on ignore War. I would engage in a discussion about it, but I'm not a fan of people who discriminate... Carry on, nothing to see... Except, perhaps it's the system they've been bought up in rather than the one they now play in if so many other nationalities adjust to ours and seem fine for their country...

Maybe take a look at the one you grew up in and consider if there's any subtle similarities I'm hinting at...

HAAAA yo keep it football....

The Winter break argument is a simple one. I don't understand why I only see on the net on this planetcricket forum a certain section of english people when it is brought up (or scrapping of the league cup which was my original point), always either declares there love for club football or takes cheap shots @ the england team for their opposition to these.

It all about sane scheduling which every dog & cat knows the premiership does not have & whether it helps england or not is not a foregone conclusion, since england national team problems is much bigger than just getting a two week season break or the dropping of a cup competition.

So you all need let your disgust/dislike/frustration with the national team come in the way of the reality that fa executives have realized & have already pledged to do. Its only all the foreign money, tv companies & bureaucrats in suits who don't want to loose money that is slowing the implementation of a winter break already.

Santi Cazorla was the most recent foreigner to speak of the simple benefits of it - Arsenal's Santi Cazorla urges England to adopt winter break - ESPN FC. If La Liga, Serie A, bunesliga, ligue 1, eredivisie had similar slog seasons to england, there would be an outcry throughout europe by the players.

8 English teams have made the last 8 Champions League Finals. You know, that competition that happens at the end of the season. In that time there have been 3 English based clubs winning it.

I reckon they're probably ok.

Maybe the other clubs relying far more on their own youth systems and giving players that come through genuine chances regardless of the risk of potentially dropping points plays a big part rather than stagnating away too afraid to be a match winner in case they cost their team points.

----------

.. and no. I wouldn't have a conversation with someone who was homophobic in the street, nor should I on a forum. If you're views on that are so completely wrong, just what else are you completely misguided about:facepalm

Thank god it wasn't suarez that kicked the ball boy...

Cantona once kicked and punched a fan because he said something extremely insulting about his mother: Cantona got a nine month ban. Hazard kicked a child for what reason exactly? How long a ban is Hazard going to get? :spy

Thank god it wasn't suarez that kicked the ball boy...

Today's his 26th birthday too haha. Would have been a field day for the journalists had that happened.

The ball boy himself, four hours before kickoff yesterday:

So he's basically a posh, rich, self entitled knob head with an inflated opinion of his own importance? Should have kicked him harder :spy

There was a Inter v Munich C-League final just 3 seasons ago, so off my head i know its not the last 8 finals. But ye most likely ever since the 03/04 porto vs monaco final and english team has been in most of the c-league final of the last 10 years.

But of course the regularity of english teams in the c-league is down to foreign players (although some united teams have a decent english contingent ). Its not like the milan teams of 2002-07 or recent barca teams that were/have been built on a strong base of italian & spanish players.

However i don't see how this point links with the need for a winter break & scrapping of the league cup during the english season.

With regards to the youth system point - yes that is big problem with england compared to some big euro clubs and leagues. I don't know the last time i saw and english club in the premiership whether they are big 4, middle-table or relegation bound that has a large english base in the starting line-up/squad since 2000.

Last season that Athletic Bilbao team that knocked out united in europe was full of talented young spaniards. Now we are seeing a case in england with newcastle that are potentially turning into a ligue 1 side - the optics are bad.

:lol oh crap really big man whats your deal...Why do you feel the need to tell me you ignoring on this forum...i don't care. I don't know if you come on planetcricket looking for friends, but i don't - just simply to talk sports with whoever wants to. So if a random person on some internet forum who i dont know & will likely never meet in life before i die and get buried 6 feet under, feels the need to do that then be my guess..

What makes it even more dumb & childish is that you seemingly got me your mind & i didnt even know for a random point i made months ago, yet you claim you ignoring me all along then engaging me in convo's all over this all in the football and cricket parts of this site - like you aint sure if you want to ignore me :lol.

I be eating, sleeping, partying, defecating, sexing, jumping, skipping, running, drinking, worshipping wonderfully in my life - so if a comment from a person on the net getting you miserable you need to check your self :lol

I have repeated told you i'm not rehashing that talk, but you keeping repeating it in the last 2 pages.

In case you didn't realize planetcricket has rules that prevents such talk:

When i made my comments months ago & as a muslim i stated my position & dropped it in accordance to the forum rules. Did you see my try to defend it or try to convince others of my position??...So why you bugging me about..."i'm completely wrong, misguided blah blah bullcrap" - that means nothing to me.

So again i say keep it football or put me on whatever ignore list you have....

Look at my team, Norwich City. Our squad is mostly English players.

And I don't see why scrapping the League Cup - one extra game a month - is going to make such a difference.

8 English teams have made the last 8 finals. Look it up. Doesn't mean they have to have been in every final seeing as Chelsea v Man U was one of them... So considering you've made the point that those teams are made up of players from other nations.. that therefore play in the very same winter period that is according to you so detrimental... but they don't flop in international tournaments... err, if you can't see the completely flawed logic of your reasoning by reducing it to such a simple equation as "scrap league cup and christmas football" to make England the bestest at the end of the season... well, you're a lost cause in more ways than one :lol

As I said, if you're incapable of seeing the ignorant nature of your own beliefs when you have in the passed made reference to your own suffered racial abuse, then you're clearly a moron. I guess by bringing it up I'm hoping others will see you for the homophobic bigot you actually are and eventually you'll be left to talk to yourself ;) I have some very close friends who are all happily homosexual and I consider people like you to be the worst kind of scum. Essentially, as someone who doesn't believe in Judaism but was born into the religion, I can make the not too big a leap to assume that had you been born in Nazi Germany, you would have been a fully fledged Nazi just because that's what everyone else around you was. You're scum, and yes, I do apologise for going outside the remit of the PC guidelines... which, may I say, are guidelines not rules.

Haaaaaaaaaa, ignoring the lame insults how can 8 english teams have been in the last 8 finals when 3 finals ago there was a german & italian team in the final??? And what is this madness about "Doesn't mean they have to have been in every final seeing as Chelsea v Man U was one of them" - what are you saying chelsea and united are two dutch teams?? :lol

I never once deduced that a correlation that you made there, that is your synopsis. I'm quite sure i said that problems with the england national team performance in tournaments cannot be simply solved by just a 2 week winter break in January. But clearly you are wishing to ignore that point & as usual just like to take cheap shots @ the national team.

Plus again i also clearly said i would not scrap christmas football:facepalm - http://www.planetcricket.org/forums/2442316-post11736.html

Also with regards to the winter break, i do agree that i would like to keep the christmas & new years football. I look forward to that annually in england as much as the boxing day & new years cricket tests in australia.

So once a winter break comes to england we dont have to copy europe verbatim & stop before christmas - england can have it for 2 weeks sometime in january

You just creating points and arguing with yourself.

Fatigue shouldn't stop you from playing dumb football that england tend to do which i'm well aware of. I am not a gullible england supporter, so mentioning that to me is insignificant. For example the barca spain contingent looked very tired heading into the euro's given the amount games they have due to the things they won between 08-12 for club & country, which saw barca having a poor year last year & many reckon that could affect spain @ the euro's - but i didn't even though at times they played a bit dull.

But its fans like yourself in england who would criticize the national team blindly when it a fact that since euro 2000, england always go into a tournament with more injuries that most euro teams. Especially after euro 2012 when a large portion was berating england for being unable to pass the ball properly, when we had one fit mid-fielder (gerrard) half fit parker & a dud jordan henderson as back-up. And no wilshire, carrick, cleverley, lampard, barry in the squad for injury & various reasons.

If Spain, Germany or Italy had lost so much key mid-fielders at once in the euro's they would have struggled too. But noo, that's not it, england are crap...

If ENG are going to play poorly @ a tournament, let them do so with their best team that is not injury ravaged or tired after the end of stupidly long season of games.

But i'm going to end this argument here since its clear you see no need for the winter break in the premiership that all the major euro leagues have. While overall don't think a lack of winter break or a presence of a insignificant cup competition doesn't make the 10 month non-stop english season unnecessarily taxing.

Cause at the end of the day i know the boys at the top in there own twisted way are trying to bring and end to it - Premier League winter break could mean end of FA Cup replays - News & Comment - Football - The Independent

Haa yes you got all that crap reasoning off your chest, feel better now?. Now take the next step & start a planetcricket petition to ban me from this site/let everyone ignore me because i'm a muslim that does't support homosexuality.

Once successful i'll be gone in 60 seconds like Nicholas cage..

And I don't see why scrapping the League Cup - one extra game a month - is going to make such a difference.

Lets see if Norwich continues in the premier league in coming seasons if the base of players remains english - since a lot clubs that come up form the championship start that way - but in effort to stay up they tend to buy foreign in abundance.

The big clubs don't take the league cup seriously, its a useless competition in the english calendar. Bradford or swansea city winning the league cup won't be a significant as some of the lesser teams that have triumphed in the fa cup in the past.

Lets just use a big club like Man City this season as an example.

They played Arsenal in the league on sept 23 and drew 1-1, just after losing mid-week, 3-2 to madrid in the c-league on sep 18. Then on sep 25th they had to play Villa in the league cup and lost 4-2 @ et.

I don't think its unfair to say that City didn't bring their A-game to that match and were glad to lose it and get knocked out and not have to bother about it again this season, as they seek to focus and keep their players fresh for the title defence and a better champ-league performance (although they eventually were knocked out) in the coming months.

how can 8 english teams have been in the last 8 finals when 3 finals ago there was a german & italian team in the final???

of the last 16 finalists, 8 were english.

Liverpool twice, united 3 times, chelsea twice and arsenal.

the time inter played barca is cancelled out by chelsea v united. One in each of the other 6.

I think I preferred it when you two were ignoring each other. This is a thread for football discussion so I'd like to move on from the non-football discussion now.

Man I've missed some serious crap going down on here the last page or 2.

I've totally lost what my point was going to be. :facepalm

Be honest Lee, you never had a point :p

The only bit that was really relevant to football though was War failing to understand how 8 English teams could have competed in the last 8 Champions League Finals.

I imagine he also struggles to grasp how a striker can have scored 10 goals in 10 games which includes a hat trick... It's pretty tricky stuff to be fair, so we'll give him a week to really study it and consult others for advice.
