I am totally disappointed with Fifa 10

Just been playing it tonite with the boys on the ole PS2.

Loved it.

Oh yeah baby, Giggs, what a goal!? Played against my mate, him Liverpool. Me 1, him 0.

Oh yeah, Valencia? Yeah, he did it. Played against other mate, him Chelski. Me 1, him 0.

Aren't the PS2 versions basically roster updates and graphic changes each and every year?

Anyway, couldn't really stay up last night to play it. Just started to get used to Fifa Street 3 that I got for free. Currently I'm installing the game onto my hard drive, can't wait to start playing it!

Nah, they do change it slightly year to year. This version is perfect for us PS2 men who can't move on to the next gen consoles.

I like it, and at a reduced price you can't complain. We get plenty of kicks out of it playing it (We only play multi-player against each-other).

That's how it will be until FIFA PC gets the next-gen engine .

Cheers. Sounds like sound advice and has helped me make up my mind! I have always enjoyed both games but dollars are tight at the mo and I have to make a choice. I have to admit of being a bit of a PES fan so PES it will be!

Is it me or is anyone noticing that the CPU can't cross the ball properly? It always goes out, not even on target.

I've never played the next gen versions of fifa, so i hold off on comment about those.

I've played some more Fifa 10 pc, its improved from Fifa 09 but i just can't get into it. It just does not feel like football.

I've played Fifa 10 'NG' and, put it this way, if Fifa 10 PC played like that, I'd happily buy it, but PES 10 just seems to be the more fluid (and most importantly, fun game) out of the two.

PES 10 is excellent, and chances are the full game will be even better. There's been a lot of love put into that game.

Anyway, all you console (PS3/Xbox 360) guys, enjoy your Fifa 10 game, it certainly is a good'un. For everyone else (apart from those liking it on PS2/PC), our turn comes in around three weeks.

EA have stopped making all other sports games for PC, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Fifa PC game follow suit in a few years. I cannot ever see EA Sports putting any love into the PC game - Peter Moore(on) is clearly anti PC.

Well, stuff you Mr Moore. I'll buy PES 10 and when World Cup time comes around, I'll grab the World Cup patch that'll come along (and PES World Cup patches are amazing ), so that's more money you won't be getting from me. EA Sports' attitude towards PC Gamers (the format that got them where they are, originally) stinks. :

I only played '08 on PS2 so I don't know, but its miles ahead of '08 on PS2.

Fifa10 arrived this morning for the PS3 and after playing two games I can safely say this is the best footballing game I've ever played. The main reason is because it just feels like real football. Unlike with EA's cricket games which couldn't get much further from how cricket is really played Fifa10 is just so realistic. Enjoyed every minute of my matches thanks to realistic passing, realistic movement, realistic shooting, just everything about it.

My first game was Real Madrid (me) vs Barca on Legendary. Found it difficult to get going, ended up being dominated and lost 2-0. Changed the level down to World Class and played as Liverpool vs Shalke under floodlights at Anfield. Won 4-2 after extra time. Torres took the lead with a header, and I have to say I absolutely love the crossing in this game, probably the thing I love most about it actually. They levelled and eventually took the lead. With just minutes left on the clock I took the ball from inside my box, completed 5 passes which took me down the right and then across to Reira on the left. He cut inside, nipped past 3 or 4 defenders on the edge of the area and blasted past an unsighted keeper. One of the most realistic and most enjoyable goals I have ever scored on an Fifa game. In extra time we made it 3-2 with a thunderous first time strike from Gerrard and Torres rounded it off after the keeper's save fell to him just 10 yards out.

Overall I reccommend anyone with a PS3 to buy the game. It's brilliant.

got it on wii this morning, what a let down,

they've tried to make it with an arcade style, and so it seems whenever you shoot, you get this momentum thing which slows down the play and zooms in on the ball. Also, whenever you get a set-piece, you have to shake the remote at the right time, but, even if you get a 'poor shot', your opponent still has to shake his remote at the correct millisecond to stop it curling 2 miles into the top corner.
elsewhere, goals are too easy to score,
manager mode is completely messed up, the transfer system is utter rubbish, you have to have star points to buy players, you start with 20 but each player that is half decent is worth 15-20 of these, so you can only buy 1 player before you have to start selling your own good players.
the menu is really hard to navigate, for example, when you want to select 'battle for glory' (the new manager mode), you can't press the text, you have to press the pic of benzema on the other side of the screen.

My view, me and my brother will ask for a PS3 for christmas together, and hopefully then get Fifa10 on that, which from the reviews so far seems to be much better

Also, what is up with the AI? They've mucked up somewhere, they seem adament in walking the ball into the net instead of shooting half the time.

The first few hours are great, really enjoyed playing it most of yesterday, but the flaws and general stifling atmosphere are really annoying me now. The lack of individuality hits the game hardest in my opinion, there's just no incentive to get certain players on the ball, so they can do something special.

We don't have online in the flat, just playing each other, which is still pretty fun. But offline, it's nothing to write home about.

Must be, surely! I have played PS3 Fifa 10 and if PC version was like that, I'd be getting it on PC, instead of PES 10. While I think PES 10's football has the edge, I'd still say that Fifa 10 'NG' would be the best overall football game package, if you get what I mean - Fifa is far stronger offpitch than PES.

Nah, they're talking about NG versions. Evertonfan knows better than to buy the PC version of FIFA.

Matt will be talking about the XBox version. No idea if it's any different to PS3 but the PS3 version is great (If you ask me that is).
