Some shocking omissions have been Amit Mishra from "Emerging Player of the Year", Zaheer Khan & Ajantha Mendis from "Twenty20 International Performance of the Year" & Rudi Koertzen from "Umpire of the Year". :eek:

Also, its quite unfair to have a "Spirit of Cricket" award without India, South Africa & Pakistan being nominated. :swords

It's between Jesse Ryder and Peter Siddle for emerging player of the year. You have to think Ryder would get it though:

-He's playing in a weaker team and he's now pretty much the best batsmen in that team

-He's performed in all three forms of the game

-He's Jesse Ryder, he never loses :D

Spirit of Cricket award will go to Sri Lanka or New Zealand most likely.

Have to ask why Michael Clarke is not in the test cricketer of the year list :(

Rudi Koertzen? That bludger who couldn't make a decent call all Ashes?

* Cricketer of the Year
None really stand at TBH
* Test Player of the Year
Thilan Samaraweera
* ODI Player of the Year
One of the Indians
* Emerging Player of the Year
Jesse Ryder
* Twenty20 International Performance of the Year
Umar Gul 5-6 v New Zealand
* Associate and Affiliate Player of the Year
Ryan ten Doeschate (Netherlands),
* Women's Cricketer of the Year
No idea
* Umpire of the Year
Simon Taufel (Australia)?? don't really no
* Spirit of Cricket
New Zealand as a consolation or Sri Lanka as they got attacked

Ryder... maybe. But I guess they'll give it to an Aussie.

Rudi Koertzen? That bludger who couldn't make a decent call all Ashes?

Bucknor made a career out of screwing India. Yet he was nominated every year ! To overlook Rudi's contribution because of ONE series is being a bit too harsh on him. And as Ricky "God" Ponting says, "Its a part of the game. Some decisions go your way, some don't".

Please don't go there.

fixed now :p

Hilfy for emerging player award. Pretty sure he won't get it despite been Aussie best bowler in the Ashes. If he won us the ashes then maybe.

Hilfy for emerging player award. Pretty sure he won't get it because he's done jack all at the international level. If he won us the ashes then maybe.

Fixed. Hopefully you agree :D

Howsie added 0 Minutes and 48 Seconds later...

fixed now :p

It would probably make him more of a legend tbh :p

Jack all? Rofl.... :laugh

Please don't go there.

It was just an illustration. Nothing to be worried about. I really donno why there's a big hue and cry when we saying something and why there is NONE when the Aussies do. I can link you threads with deplorable content but everyone seems to brush it down the mat. Strange :spy

Lets get back to topic though. Sri Lanka has the best chance to win the Spirit of Cricket award

Strauss is a shoe-in for Test cricketer of the year. It's a no-brainer.

Well Aussies have been well behaved this year. Can't remember them giving rough time to anyone.

The Australians are only rowdy when they're winning matches. They've been very well behaved this year.
