FOOTBALL Football Manager Discussion

Still struggling to get into a save. I've decided to stop resisting and go to Northern Ireland like every version. With the dynamic league change it could be pretty fun. I've also got England, Germany, Italy, Poland and Serbia added. Would love to move to Legia eventually or something. I was tempted to start a save as Beograd in Serbia but I prefer to start from the bottom.

Going to play with Barcelona. Those who get Torres from Liverpool are very lucky.

Torres is available from 120million$ to 140million$.

I literally jumped in the air in delight.

Coming to the end of the season now; won the league cup vs Blackburn 1-0. Went 1nil up early on, and just "shut up shop" at half time. Went out in FA Cup to Everton 3-0 in the 6th round, but I reached the board expectations for it. Still in title race with 6 games to go - Everton managed a last minute equaliser against me so I'm now 1 point behind Man City who are top, but I have a slightly better goal difference. And as you can see I've reached the semi-final of the Champions league, in brilliant fashion. The other semi finalists are Madrid, Sevilla and Lyon, so I have a great chance of reaching the final!

Drew Sevilla in the champions league so very happy with that.

The title race is very nerve racking. City lost 2-0 to Utd so I had the chance to go 2 points clear at the top with a win at sunderland. I was 1-0 up but then Bent scores an equaliser in the 85th minute, I'd still go top on goal difference though. But then in injury time, Bent gets through on goal and lobs the ball over Gomes.

Next game was the big game, vs Man City. If City won they'd have pretty much won the league. 3rd minute, Tevez puts the ball in the back of the net. In injury time for the first half, Modric scores after a wonderful cross from Lennon. Early in the second half, Lennon crosses it again and this time for Bale who makes it 2-1. I went ultra-defensive, playing 4-3-3-0 and just holding on for the win. Now I'm 2 points clear at the top with 4 games left.

However, my next league game is against Chelsea. If I win that, then I've pretty much won the league, as after that I have Wolves, Birmingham and West Ham. City's remaining four matches are against Liverpool, Fulham, Newcastle and West Brom.

First I have my away tie against Sevilla though. I can't believe how well I've done this season, I really didn't expect this.

My game often gets crashes. I don't know why?

4-3-3-0? Great wins there by the way. :)

Came 2nd in the Premiership in my Everton save, the last 8 games were tense as anything. At one point in one of the games places 2nd through to 5th were all equal on points. Chelsea were the clear winners with 15 points more than me, but the my major signing did me the best. Roque Santa Cruz scored 27 goals in 28 games for the club, was banging them in left right and centre.

Now I have a ?20 million transfer budget but I am going to adjust the settings to get myself a better wage budget. The wages are incredibly tight to the limit as it is, so would like a little bit more freedom. Even if I had done badly, because I won the League Cup I was always certain of a spot in a European competition but now I am in the major one, and don't even have to go through the qualifiers!

Really need to shore up my defense with the money I have been given, I am amazing going forward but so shaky at the back. Looking forward to giving it more of a play again tomorrow, when I need to sign a whole load more back room staff because I didn't have any funds to renew expiring contracts. Hoping for another good season!

A back four, a treble pivot sat infront of the defence, and then two wingers pressing the full backs and a trequartista in a free role. No forwards.

Wow what an incredible season. First leg against Sevilla I dominated the game and won comfortably 3-1 setting up what should've been an easy 2nd leg. Then against Chelsea and I absolutely mauled chelsea 4-1! So 5-0 at home and 4-1 away to Chelsea. I would've won the league against Birmingham but Zigic equalised in the 86th minute. Man City were playing Newcastle the day after, and were winning 3-2 but then Nolan equalised in the 90th+3 minute so I won the league!

Back to the champions league and I was playing sevilla in the semi final 2nd leg at home. I had 3 away goals so really had the advantage. I conceded early on though, and then conceded again just after the start of the second half. I was narrowly holding on, and then Fabiano manages to get through on goal right at the end and puts the ball in the back of the net. My heart sunk. But then the linesman gave it offside and I scraped through to the final at Wembley!

Lyon somehow hammered Madrid 3-1 in the first leg, and managed to get to the final despite losing 1-0 in the second leg. So it was Spurs vs Lyon in the final, and we were absolutely brilliant. 2 goals from Defoe and one from Bale in a pretty comfortable win for the biggest club trophy in the world.

The treble in my first season! I won manager of the year, Modric won Footballer of the year, having managed the most assists in the league. Defoe finished 3rd in the goalscoring charts with 24. I really didn't expect to do ridiculously well.

Got a lot of money to spend and I hope I don't fall into the trap and just creating a whole new squad. Whenever I do that, I regret it because it's not very realistic afterwards. I've got quite a lot of deadwood though and I'm just letting them go.

My two big signings have been Simon Kjaer and Marek Hamsik. I let Gallas go, and I'm not convinced that Dawson and King are a good enough partnership. I wanted a well rounded centre back who was good technically, and Kjaer fit the bill perfectly. Napoli offered Hamsik to me, and I was interested in a centre midfielder who was well rounded and creative anyway.

Wow.. you seem to be a legendary manager. Can you help me?

Top stuff. You've inspired me to start another LFC campaign. The memories of my LFC success on FM10 are rushing back - though I never won the CL. Lost to Real in the final 3-2 in my 3rd or 4th season. To do the treble in your first season with Spurs, well in lad.

Nicee. There seems to be a lot of late equalizers in those matches that you mentioned. Congrats on the success there by the way. :thumbs

Yeh we conceded a lot of late goals as well all throughout the season. Considering how many points we dropped it's amazing we won the league. Retaining the title is going to be tough. I need to be much tighter at the back. We scored a LOT of goals but conceded loads as well and that's not going to cut it.
