4-3-3-0? Great wins there by the way.
A back four, a treble pivot sat infront of the defence, and then two wingers pressing the full backs and a trequartista in a free role. No forwards.
Wow what an incredible season. First leg against Sevilla I dominated the game and won comfortably 3-1 setting up what should've been an easy 2nd leg. Then against Chelsea and I absolutely mauled chelsea 4-1! So 5-0 at home and 4-1 away to Chelsea. I would've won the league against Birmingham but Zigic equalised in the 86th minute. Man City were playing Newcastle the day after, and were winning 3-2 but then Nolan equalised in the 90th+3 minute so I won the league!
Back to the champions league and I was playing sevilla in the semi final 2nd leg at home. I had 3 away goals so really had the advantage. I conceded early on though, and then conceded again just after the start of the second half. I was narrowly holding on, and then Fabiano manages to get through on goal right at the end and puts the ball in the back of the net. My heart sunk. But then the linesman gave it offside and I scraped through to the final at Wembley!
Lyon somehow hammered Madrid 3-1 in the first leg, and managed to get to the final despite losing 1-0 in the second leg. So it was Spurs vs Lyon in the final, and we were absolutely brilliant. 2 goals from Defoe and one from Bale in a pretty comfortable win for the biggest club trophy in the world.
The treble in my first season! I won manager of the year, Modric won Footballer of the year, having managed the most assists in the league. Defoe finished 3rd in the goalscoring charts with 24. I really didn't expect to do ridiculously well.
Got a lot of money to spend and I hope I don't fall into the trap and just creating a whole new squad. Whenever I do that, I regret it because it's not very realistic afterwards. I've got quite a lot of deadwood though and I'm just letting them go.
My two big signings have been Simon Kjaer and Marek Hamsik. I let Gallas go, and I'm not convinced that Dawson and King are a good enough partnership. I wanted a well rounded centre back who was good technically, and Kjaer fit the bill perfectly. Napoli offered Hamsik to me, and I was interested in a centre midfielder who was well rounded and creative anyway.
