FOOTBALL Football Manager Discussion

I've had since November and enjoyed it.......

Had a cracker of a game last night. Champions League final as Man Utd taking on Real Madrid. We started ok making a good chance in the first half, but then went downhill with Raul and Ramos scoring goals inside half an hour. Madrid dominated the end of the first half, and we were playing awfully. Come the half time team talk and I told the players I wanted to see more from them, then came a 99 Final-esque comeback with goals from Tevez (2) and Saha in the 2nd half, with Tevez's second coming in the 85th minute to win us the Champions League. Was a cracking performance to come back from 2-0 down at half time against a quality side and win. With the official patch this game is a beauty.

-------

Just had an awesome season with Chicago in the MLS. Me and my mate both joint managed the side. We had a bad start, couldn't get a win from anywhere. Suddenly at mid-season we turned it around. 5 wins in 6 games got us back on track and we were in a battle for 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th spot. The top 4 in each conference make the quarter finals to see who wins the actual MLS. We had a strong side, picking up Brian Ching for a free in the waiver draft (My favourite American player for free! Was unbelievable.). Seyfo Soley joined mid-season, and after abttling through injuries early on we found ourselves well in contention. Big wins against the team that finished with the best season record, FC Dallas, helped to cement a 4th spot, despite losing the last 2 games.

We were tied against FC Dallas, the team that had also won the US Cup, but we were confident after 5-1 and 3-1 season victories. We drew the home leg 1-1 after going behind, their keeper keeping them in the game throughout. Hopes then ended as after we levelled at 1-1 in the 2nd leg things just went against us. We couldn't find the net, and then they scored 3 minutes from time to give themselves a 2 goal cushion it was all over.

A fantastic season though, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Would recommend anyone to have a go at playing in the MLS, because once you get through a season you will understand all the drafts and offers you get for players The format is great and it is always a tight affair with most teams evenly matched. Very enjoyable :)

trev mate why don't you make a pack for all the kits you made so far...or have you got one already???

I am currently making a Euro 08 pack.

Teams done so far are Italy, France, Netherlands and Greece - all home and away :)

I had Football Manager 2006, still do, what a brilliant game it was, 80% real, and I?d actually spent more time on that then PlanetCricket. I played more then 10 seasons very well, got my dream team working. never got bored, just go no memory to save it. And the rosters probably really old now.

Got back into playing FM07 with a update for the new squads. The gameplay is so more exciting, the chances that you watch in game are so unpredictable. It's not always one side has the ball for the whole chance and they eventually take a shot. Sometimes a team will look like they are to have the chance then the other side counters and scores. It's a lot more realistic, and a lot less disallowed goals!
