FOOTBALL Football Manager Discussion

Yeh engine aint too good, but I enjoy being able to watch the happenings, and the goals are quite realistic. Also off the field stuff is pretty neat too. I like all the stadium building and choosing sponsors. I suppose we'll probably never get the perfect game, but FM is the best around so I'm happy with playing that :)

Made the new Ipswich kit for Ben :)

What ya think? Had to make the 'Marcus Evans' sponsor myself after Ben showed me a pic of what it looks like on the shirt. Think it came out well!

In FM the goal line and crossbar is just one line ffs, how are you supposed to tell how far over a shot was or how close to the top corner a shot went?
When someone takes a shot you don't know if it's going miles over or in the bottom corner etc. I've said it all before so no point going over it again.
You can tell how high up the ball is. I can't remember how because I haven't been on FM for a little while, but it is noticeable.

I think that says something, 3D just isn't right for management games I don't think.

I agree FM is good with 2D, to get it better they need to change things like media, manager interaction, player intereaction etc etc all that stuff.

@ Phil how are you going IN fm live?

I've recently got back into the game, and with the official patch and a few graphical downloads the game is really fun. The skin i'm using (asesino) is fantastic, and the player faces and club badges make the game more real and look great. I've started as United, and am going really well. Into the qualifying stages of the Champions League, top of the league in January by 4 points, after beating Chelski 4-0 at home :D. I've signed some decent players aswell:

Gareth Barry- £10m. Awesome player, he's been the star of my campaign alongside Tevez.
Sergio Mota- Good Brazilian winger, has only played 1 game but looked good
Lukas Podolski- £8.5m. Scored 4 on debut against Chelski, has been vital with injuries to Tevez and Rooney in January.
Aaron Ramsey- One for the future, looks a good talent
Henri Saivet- £3m- another for the future, yet to play a game
Mario Balotelli- £3- young Inter striker- dubbed the next Luca Toni

I also signed Luis Fabiano at the start of the season, but he failed to play a game because of work permit issues, so I sold him to Barca for £30mill in January, made a decent profit of £10m :D. I'm also in the final of the League Cup against Everton, after beating Liverpool 2-0 on aggregate in the semis. Really enjoying the game so far.

Also, i've recently gone back to Sortitoutsi and found that an old friend of mine Morg (Phunky Venom) is doing some graphical wizardry and working on a sig with a fellow member of the site. Progress is looking really good, and it looks a top skin so far, check it out.....

Here be the link to Morg's skin thread......
