I often wonder why certain teams are good only at 1 format, like England and Sri Lanka for example. Sri Lankan batting has been really good in this ODI series apart from the 1st ODI but in the test series they found it so hard facing the same bowlers and English bowlers who bowled excellently in the test series are now unable to do the same in ODI's. Is it just the mindset of the team or what can be the reason why some teams just cant manage to do well in various formats.
England ODI problems have been going on since the 1992 world-cup & its a simple lack of having a poor domestic cricket for limited overs cricket.
SRI well obviously in tests they are going to struggle now that Murali/Vaas/Malinga have retired from that format to take 20 test wickets, especially overseas.
50 years back no one in their straight mind would have wanted to play a 50 over game. It is the same. No one has time these days. T20 fits perfectly. Cricket was played by England and its former colonies. Most of the countries did not have a open market. Now the markets are open and more business involvement is inevitable. League based cricket is inevitable...resistance is futile
Nonsense. Cricket in its purest form in test cricket, i am 100% certain that that the majority of fans worldwide would never want see T20 cricket take precedence via league format. Utter codswallop.
Such a suggestion can only come from the realms of crazy BCCI world. Which i am beginning to think you secretly work for.

You said- Not just NZ have been marginalized.
They have been. Regardless of how average they have been, you are not helping their development as a test nation by limiting the amount of tests they play in the next decade vs top nations. Just because broadcasters see them as less commercially viable.
But again my point was about the windies. What do you have to say about the fact the unoffical IPL league for the next 8 years now will affect the "HOME" season for the west indies. Do you even find anything wrong that from now on, WI fans at some point over the next decade at home will have to sacrifice seeing their best players playing on home soil?????????

I did not say international cricket is going to cease to exist. It will still happen but the frequency of tours are going to be reduced and replaced with league games similar to football and Ice hockey.
Lol..another rude statement...anyway the market does not think like you
IPL tournament rights were sold for around the same amount as all ICC tournaments
I find games involving chennai and Banglore (two cities with a kind of frosty relationship) more interesting than Ind-WI.
I dont care what the markets think. T20 cricket must never gain such importance. It must all be the least more attractive format of cricket.
If new fans can never appreciate test cricket and a more inclined to T20s, then cricket is not the sport for them.
You say you enjoy Chennai vs Bangalore games more than IND vs WI. But i ask you if IND had sent it full strength team to the caribbean and Windies also were able to field their best XI away from WICB politics. Surely you would not have that feeling??
