Group E - England, India, New Zealand, South Africa

They are in the sky studio in London, if they were in SA then I wouldn't be so worried..

If we had Tresco he would of keeped!

I definitely remember saying ages ago when the first provisional squad was announced that we should take two keepers (Nixon and Prior) so that we had a back-up for such a situation as this. Doesn't matter if the back up keeper doesn't get a game, he just has to be there. Look how there's always a keeper on the bench in football. He rarely gets a game but when the on field keeper gets injured you're prepared.

Loye is an absolutely dreadful Keeper. The same for Trescothick. They willl iterally not have done it/even practised it in years. I know for sure Loye and Trescothick don't do any Keeping at training either internationally or domestically. Steven Davies, you time has come.

Tresco, I know, carries his keeping pads and gloves to every match..thats practice enough for me..:)

The ball barely goes to a keeper anyway, at least give the gloves to a man who has does it in several ODI's (If we are going to do my idea which is actually impossible now), he was keeping in South Africa last time we were there (for 30 overs..).
And he is one of the best slippers in England, he can catch!:hpraise
Talent.

Loye on the other hand wasn't apprently quite bad when he keeped for Lancs when I think Hegg broke his thumb.

Loye is not a keeper anymore and he never had any real pedigree behind the stumps anyway. Period.

And you really don't need to bring a back up keeper for a 2 week tournement, honestly, it's very unlikely an injury will happen in 20twenty, I know Prior has been hurt but, I wouldn't waste that position.

Well I hear Loye was quite bad...took a catch in the sixes though apparently.

Yes you do need a back-up keeper. Always. Just in case the first choice keeper gets injured.

I am well aware that Tresco has done it before. The point I'm making is that he isn't at all in practise. In 20/Twenty if a catch goes down it can cost you the game, as we showed last night with the whole Albie Morkel fiasco. Even conceading a bye or two can be absolutely crucial in this form of the game. You can get away with a part time Keeper a lot in 50 over Cricket.

Also; It was Peter Moores who threw in the return that caused this injury to Prior. Conspiracy ahoy.

Make Moores keep!
Theres one!

Call up Peter Moores, he's only 44, young enough, Andy Flower isn't qualified unfortunately...if he was...qqualified and fit on the other hand.

We can't call anyone up, which is the problem. Otherwise it'd be easy enough to call up one of the County Keepers about.

What are the odds on our stop gap replacement keeper doing well against whoever we play next and earning himself a ridiculous Test call up?

If it was Trescothick, odds on :)

Let's hope so, if he gets a stumping, i'll put something weired on my avatar..(Ironically it's currently Trescothick stumping)
