Good win by Pakistan, their spinners bowled well in the middle overs while the West Indies spinners struggled. In the end the West Indies were about 10 runs short, they didn't make enough runs in the batting powerplay and that cost them.
Still the West Indies did well, a few pages into this thread I said anything short of semifinals will be a disappointment and they got exactly to the semis.
Brathwaite, Holder, Creary and Dowrich all played well during this tournament. Something to look forward to. Hopefully some of these players can get back home in time to play some domestic matches.

at the end of the day Dare, the windies can look at the fact they had a patchy, average squad with 2 of the best players at the tournament in it.

I'm sure they'd actually prefer that.

Not saying pakistan's team has nothing to get excited about, some good players there, but maybe not guys that can make an obvious step up. Azam doesn't look that nailed on a future star as braithwaite.

Beyond awful, they let so many balls just go through their legs, dropped catches and just overall very slow in the field. Just as bad as the national bunch.

Below average, West Indies could have taken so many 2s if they just ran the 1s quicker and put some pressure on the fielders. Everything that the Pakistani fielders tried to scoop up of the turf bounced of their hands, like the ball had spikes on it.

Yea Brathwaite and Holder were definitely the standouts. Creary did well, scored a couple of 50s and a 40, Dowrich also a couple of 50s but the rest of the middle order failed. Griffith made 94 runs in the tournament 84 of them came in one match against Pakistan. As for the bowlers only holder did real damage. The spinners did well against PNG and Bangladesh but they always struggled against Pakistan.

They did get two run outs, were a few sloppy moments that I saw. Didn't pay enough attention to get an accurate comparison. Hopefully Australia makes it through so I can do that for you

Savory scones with either bacon or ham in them were made available at a morning tea in Napier on Sunday.

Some management and players ate the baking - and will now avoid any meat while they're in the country until Saturday.

yup, its a big stupid religious thing which affects only 1.2 billion people in the world. A bit surprising, cause Pakistan, Bangladesh and India never had this problem in the past.

This lads action's weird, doesn't really run in hard, then sort of stops, doesn't jump in and has a really high arm action. Yet he's being timed at around 85mph, mad. Must be seriously strong. Don't reckon Sri Lanka are winning this one!
