ICC World T20 Bangladesh 2014

What is everyones thoughts on the format? Its great the associates are getting a chance on the big stage, but from the looks of things so far people are more interested in the warm up games than the actual games. I think eight teams is far too many for the qualifiers, four would have been fine so the main draw could start earlier.

I am interested in the matches of lesser known teams just to see how good/bad they are. I loved the spirit of Nepal fans and I think Paras Khadka, Shakti Gauchan, Nabi and Samiullah Shenwari deserves to play from a better team. They are certainly not the next I.L. Bula or Bart King but they are exciting cricketers and give me a reason to watch their teams play.

Here's hoping for a Zimbabwe win and an Irish slip up against the UAE today.

Pictures of Nepal fans have been posted on the official ICC facebook page and I think the support is enough for a touring test nation to get jealous. Check it out here.

I'm rather interested in the qualifiers because I think its good to see these sort of nations get more presence on the international scene and one of the guys in the HK team went to school with me :p

Mark Chapman? Just curious did he do quite well in school cricket?

Seriously. "What is going on?" - Alan Wilkins

Zimbabwe look pathetic in the field today. And Netherlands look equally bad while batting :facepalm

Edit - The post looks stupid when you see that one handed stop at point by Sibanda

7 runs per over, not a problem. Should chase this down comfortably.

Looks like a great final over from Starc to win it. Having an actual look at our T20 WC side, bowling does seem weaker than what we usually have in this format. NCN has been quite expensive, Faulkner similar in that regard. Bollinger could well be required. Hogg is good in the spin deparment, Murihead still unknown.

Zimbabwe are on the backfoot now. Seelars's remaining two over are going to be very imp from Holland's perspective now - a genuine slow left arm bowler. He'll be bowling 2 of the last three. Have to say Borren's captaincy and field settings have been good :thumbs

There's still hope for Zimbabwe as Taylor looks well set to play big shots from here on. Williams is a good batsman too! I'll say 50-50.

Edit - Seelar won't. Probably his captain is too reluctant to use his best spinner in the death!

How the fearsome tweak are the reigning champions not the favorites?

If you're looking for entertainment then watch the Zimbabwe cricket team, second match in a row which goes down to last delivery. Thankfully they won this time round!
