That really really should be the nail in the coffin for Giles' hopes of being head coach.

Going into the interview in a couple of weeks time - how on earth is he going to answer the questions "Why should we give you the job?" and "what experience do you have that makes you suitable for this role?"

Yeah, you're right, it should be the end of his hopes. But, this is the ECB, there's no way he's not getting the job. We've got another 4 years of this sort of stuff to look forward too and in Tests too. Joy.

On the game today, there's losing to Netherlands, like if South Africa had just lost, then fair enough, it's T20 it happens. But we got thumped today. Netherlands were better and the players should be embarrassed.

The only silver lining is that New Zealand are playing spin like we normally do.

But I am not quite pro-DRS in T20s. Its supposed to be a fast paced game and DRS would just slow it down. Plus the idea of 1 review per team is kinda stupid

The pitches haven't been great lets be honest, rank turners don't provide for terribly exciting T20 cricket.

Disappointing from us and unfortunately a lot of fans are being very harsh on them from what I can tell. At the end of the day we've still had a great summer, but yeah still a lot of improvement to be made on turning pitches. The South Africa game is what killed us in the end, really should have won that easily so this game wouldn't have mattered.

To me Netherlands got so unlucky in this tournament, all the games they played apart from the Sri Lanka game, they deserved the wins the way they performed.

I haven't watched the game so wont comment on it yet. But from the matches I have watched, I don't think there has been any issue with pitches. They have assisted spinners but there is nothing wrong with that. I have loved watching the bowlers spinning webs around top class batting lineups. SL have been exceptional in this area

And its not all been low scoring. India scored 159 at Mirpur v/s Australia's 86. Chittagong has also seen its fair share of high scores. In most of the matches, teams have put up competitive totals

I am backing Pakistan here. Should be interesting to watch a Pakistan vs Sri Lanka semifinal. Two spin heavy teams taking on each other should be good.
