India in England/Ireland/Scotland

agarkar definetley needs to be dropped for the next match and hopefully for the whole series, with zaheer, munaf, chawla, powar and RP it makes us slightly stronder in the bowling department, but will india play 5 bowlers in the next match?, because their batting performance at the rose bowl will awlays be on their mind this series...

Jon Lewis has been called up for the England squad
God bless you selectors you've got something right, we have a right armed Sidebottom.

Jon Lewis is THE crappest seamer in contention for an England place, so much so, id rather have Liam Plunkett over Lewis.

Im not sure who'd i call up, but its not me making the decisions, its those selectors who i wouldnt trust with anything.

No other player would have reached that one though, he did well to get a hand to it.

hes very economical for a medium pacer, 2.99 is very low, people would consider that at test level...

I'd go for Kirtley....

Lewis is far from crap, very accurate, clever bowler too, just because he doesn't wang it down at 90 MPH doesn't mean he is crap.

Manee - Tremlett may have height, but doesn't jump that high, it almost negates it, I think KP would've caught it, he's only 3 inches shorter than Tremlett.

His economy rate in ODIs is 3.99 not 2.99.

Fair enough, he seemed to put a lot of effort in to it, but that was probably him just making a meal out of it.

oops, my bad.

i dont think tremlett will be a star bowler in this series, in this shorter format of the game, he bowls 80% back of a lentgh, the likes of sachin and yuvraj will just rock back and hit him away all day

Excellent decision to call up Lewis. If you call Lewis crap then you either don't know much about the sport or you just don't appreciate quality bowling.

But I would actually bring Kirtley into the squad. He's a legend.

would like to know if any one going to the third ODI at edgbaston

Good win by India to be honest eng got soo close due to inexperience and poor bowling lineup that Inida had with Khan not playing....329 made by India was against better bowling attack than the one England faced and scored 320. To be honest...India win matches because of its batting lineup...if you look at the bowling department...you can easly compare it to Zim or kenye...but few Ind bowlers on their days can give speical performences but most of the time they fail... Had Eng chased the same score against SA or Aussie bowling lineup...they wouldn't get as much close as they did...

Well, i always say, i have no trust in Indian bowlers :p We should have had Harbhajan as the only spinner in playing XI in ODIs. Pyiush needs to learn more varieties.

I missed the second part of the match... but managed to see the first part which is Indian batting. Regarding our batting, What a legend is Tendulkar. :hpraise Classic innings from him. The best thing i liked in his innings is, his reaction when umpire gave him out.. what a sarcastic smile it was! And his record of 3 90's in his last 5 innings should have made the Tendulkar criticizers to punch their nose even more hard :p Some of the shots were just spectacular.

Its to be noted that, Tendulkar and Jayasuriya were the only batsmen to get dismissed in 99 for three times. And i guess, Tendulkar tops the list too in getting dismissed > 90's < 100. :( Anyways, spectacular display Sachin :happy

@ Manee... hope you had enjoyed Tendulkar's dominating innings too. ;)

And regarding Dravid's innings, i saw a flash news in one of the news channel, that, Dravid said, " This 90+ in 60+ balls is compensation for 12 from 96 balls in the test ". Interesting. The timing of his shots were superb though. :) Nice finishing touch to the innings.

Not a very good win but there is something to cheer about it

I believe you should always play at least one spinner, if only for a bit of variation. Monty would not have gone for over 70 runs!!

India have got one heck of a spinner coming through with that youngster! What's happened to H. Singh and Sehwag?
