Well bare in mind that Panesar has only played around 9 county one day matches in his life before he made his England ODI debut, Powar has played nearly 100 list A games, so it's going to take time.
England didn't select him for the 06 forgettable champions trophy and there was a media backlash.
I think he should probably go back to Northants to play some OD cricket in future seasons.

And at least he has acknowledged that he bowls a bit quick sometimes

I think dravid has done a fine job.
Stop blaming the captain and making him a scapegoat for anything bad things that happens to the team.
If your so critical why don't you try and captain the India?
When we lose we'll know when to publically humiliate you..

I have captained a few sides,though not of international stature.
Its just the way he captains.
Why have Ramesh Powar on the boundary line,when he cannot even run and stop the ball ?
And its my view on the topic.
Dravid is not a good captain,he did not lead well in Bangladesh,neither did he do it in the World Cup.
If we lose the current series,Dravid will,in all probability be asked to step down as the captain.
There are many things that one can poitn out here-e.g the Third test,not giving follow-on !

I doubt anyone can say we have a poor bowling attack.
We have Zaheer, 8 in the world and climbing fast.
We have Agarkar, an experienced candidate (even though i hate him) with almost 300 wickets to his name.
We have 2 world class young spinners.
And some very handy part timers.

And if we have Irfan Pathan in full flow thats more then enough for anyone to handle.

So yeah.

Handy part-timers,yes we do have them.
But why then does the captain not use them often ?

panesar gets wicket out of luck to me, he mostly get tail enders.

England must have a better spinner at hand to replace him, everday they talk about him only having one technique. He also never flights the balls, just predictable.

Delighted to see Wright called up the ODI squad, If he plays I wonder where they'll put him? He's been opening in OD cricket for us this season, a very quick and clean hitter of the ball, his bowling may not look good on record but he has the potential, he bowls at 85MPH just needs some consistency and he needs to bowl more imo. Very good fielder too.

Let's say Ravi is injured for tomorrow (almost certain). I'd bring in Flintoff (if fit) and Mascarenhas. If Fred isn't fit I'd bring in Wright, though I wouldn't know what position to bat him at.

The fact is, england has a very poor team, India's bowlers suck so badly that only a poor batting side could lose wickets to them.


If it was any other team that made 320 england wouldn't even come close.

KP is not a good batsman when facing decent bowlers, too easy to get out.

India's bowlers don't suck badly .Khan and Powar are very good bowlers imo. RP Singh has been decent (and unlucky due to the Indians not knowing which balance is best) and Chawla is an exciting up and coming leg spinner.

It's a blow, he is a very good batsman and has unflappability (). Very good fielder and useful bowler too, although he isn't bowled enough in England colours. I can't see us playing with Broad or Dimi at 7 and as Flintoff won't be playing tomorrow (I can't see it) I think Wright will make his debut tomorrow.

They'll probably bat Wright down at 7 since he'll replace Bopara.
He should open the batting where he can take advantage of the powerplays.
We'll have to see but lets hope the right squad will be picked tomorrow.

He must change his action, the magical German shoes clearly have not worked and frankly, tackling the symptons is not what you should do at international level. He needs to look to try to straighten his foot out more because no shoe will prevent the effect of the twisting on the foot. This should be a tougher test to Allan Donald than giving Harmison a pat on the back to give him confidence and telling Jimmy Anderson he is the 'leader' so he will do well; this is a complex biomechanical issue and I will be interested to see how (if at all) he modifies Flintoff's foot position.

anyway flintoff just needs to concentrate on straightening his foot, even if it means 5-7mph off his bowling speed....
