India in England/Ireland/Scotland

he should do it then.
I don't think you are in a position to question Tendulkar's judgement, he has played more international cricket than 99% of the world's population have played cricket.
Tell him that then. Instead of trying to make out that Pietersen was in the wrong.
Not only was Pietersen not in the wrong, he was not in anything. He merely took the advice of his teammates to stay out there.

Why bat first ?
The conditions were overcast....
Well,it is a final and i think that explains our situation well.

There's nothing stopping him. He's completely within his rights to do so. It's his choice.

I don't believe it is within his rights to do so.

PS: Quality discussions going on here, lets have no more match commentary of "Great shot" or "Gone".

The ball doesn't swing when it is cold, the ball did not swing today. The ball spins more in the second innings, India have two spinners.

Powar is safe here, if this is given, I have lost all hope in umpiring.

Whatever,I think we might just have a new captain after the T20 tournament.
And a new one is neccessary for the Pakistan and Australia series.
Dravid cant take this team too far.

Being fair to Dravid, batting is your strong suit. Your gameplan in general has to be bat first, score 300 and hope that the other team capitulates chasing such a large total, because I don't think you have 5 bowlers that will really cause a side loads of problems. I only see Chawla, Powar and Zaheer as threats, notably Powar and Chawla. Agarkar may take wickets, but he gives away so many runs, even when he is bowling well, so thats always going to play into the oppositions hands unless you have Agarkar taking 4-6 wickets everygame. Which will not happen.

I guess the scary thing for England is Dhoni is still there. He's due. He has no one to bat with unfortunately though.

To be honest, Panesar is damned boring to watch. He really needs some ODI bowling lessons. Doesn't look at all threatening. If he isn't going to throw it up in this situation he never will.

I'd be tempting Dhoni as best I can.

Definitely Adarsh. I remember seeing Chawla get 50 in the U19 Final a couple of years ago, whilst captaining and bowling. He looked very solid, he is still finding his feet in international cricket. It'll take his batting a while to get used to it though, simply because it's not his strong suit, but it may well happen he turns out to be a decent number 8.

Well bowled Macarenhas and a sharp piece of work from Matt Prior. Nice bit of work, good anticipation and some good hands from him there.

Silly from Chawla, I know feel a bit of a twat for building him up a little in my first paragraph.
