India in England Jun-Sept 2014

Disappointing that we might not post 450+, but I think Shami and Bhuvi have batted brilliantly here to get us close to 400, after being at 349/9. Wish these two can go on for some more time and add as much as possible. As much runs on this wicket to put pressure on England would be good.

If you`d have told me India would score 400 when we opted to bat, I would`ve taken it with both hands. In hindsight, considering the conditions and the position that we were in, its not going to be enough. We are still very much capable of losing this one after conceding 550+.

I repeat, we are playing with 10 men here. Binny is`nt going to get you test match wickets. If we wanted to make a brave decision, Ashwin or Aaron would`ve been logical choices. With Binny, we are`nt playing with 5 bowlers, in fact we are playing with a batsman short! Wierd tactics which I hope fails early in the series so that it is shelved soon enough. It is by far the worst test match selection along with Vinay Kumar at Perth.

When Ishant got out, if Dhoni were offered 370, he would have jumped and grabbed it. To get to 400+ now, is just a HUGE bonus. On the downside shows you how good the pitch still is.

yep, didn't expect a 50 partnership from the last wicket at all, they'll need more of this through the series though.

Shows how benign this track is. Going to be really really hard for the Ishant led attack.

A bit of optimism, amidst the calls of benign pitch, insufficient runs and the Binny-Ishant hate

We have already tackled a few demons from the last tour. Made a score of 300+ (400+ now). Had A top order and a lower-middle order batsman play excellent knocks. One of them being MSD. And now the tail is holding up splendidly

Only one team since 2008 has lost a test match after posting 400+ in the first innings. Doubt anyside could take 20 wickets on this pitch. Having said this, England have to bat 4th and the pitch could have gone by then, making it hard to bat.

Damn, this last wicket pair are annoying England but the bowlers have to stay positive and stay focused.

Ali showed some turn, there might be a bit in it on the 4th day for Jadeja but it's still such a good track, I'm guessing a draw unless England's batting flops .

A draw would be the result most likely, however the last wicket stand is really annoying the English. Was really surprised to see the English not appealing strongly for an obvious out and in the end made the decision against them.

I know the expectations on our bowlers, shravi. I do believe we might have a chance to do decently if we have a big total behind our back (which we have right now). Shami's reverse swing can get us wickets, even if Ishant-Kumar-Binny don't get wickets. And with the wicket taking spin, Jaddu might turn out to be crucial. A big total always gives advantage to the side that sets it.

Prior and Plunkett's non-enthusiasm made the umpire go against that caught behind decision off Shami. Surprised that Prior's appeal was late on that. Cook heard it clearly, people watching the live streaming heard it clearly. How did the guy behind the stumps not hear it clearly enough to be very excited?

Haha England are completely shit. How can we let this happen three years in a row? At least those times it was fun to cheer on Timo and Agar, this is just annoying

Okay Fair Enough, Moen Ali deserves atleast that one wicket, for the buckets of easy runs he helped give away.
