India Team Discussion

Nope not kidding.

Brad Hogg is still playing at age 46 in competitive T20 leagues such as BBL.
A spinner and a fast bowler there is a lot of difference. Plus Nehra plays for country and IPL whereas Hogg plays only for BBL

Not much international cricket in T20 is carded for the next couple years. Fast bowler only has to go for four overs max.

Brad Hogg has bowled 5501 overs in his career which started in 1993. vs Ashish nehra who has bolwed 6545 overs in his career which started in 1997. So basically he has bowled 1000 overs more in 5 less years thats 200 overs a year more then Brad Hogg has ever bowled. This facts end how he has been over the years despite all the injuries.

Well done by Nehra to announce his exit at the right time. To get a home game as the last game is a big blessing. I am sure that with Nehra announcing that his last game will be the T20I vs New Zealand, he has sealed his spot in the XI for that game.

How his career would have been if he had reduced the number of his injuries by atleast half. He seriously could have caused good damage to world batsmen. His is a career of "what could've been...". That 6-23 vs England in the 2003 World Cup remains his watershed moment.

Your point being?

Didnt he recently pass a fitness test?

My point being Nehra has seen a lot of international cricket scenes which includes injury and spear heading an Indian bowling attack. Hogg is a decent bloke not disagreeing that but being a Fast Bowler it takes more toll on body then being a spinner. He did not pass any fitness test because he wasnt required based on the articles I have read. Also there is an age you retire gracefully and now is his time. Lovely bowler when in full rhythm and a decent bloke. He has serviced Indian cricket duly and I wish him all the luck.

He is in good form and he is old (38?) And he is injury prone. It's a good decision to retire and at the right time. Thank you for your service Nehra ji ! Always remember him as someone who smiles even after getting hit for a boundary. ;p

Sir always scores big ;p

Okay, so India don't have another Test until 1st August - could Prithvi Shaw be at the top of the order for it?
No he need to perform constantly to qualify for England tour may be, other day he hits fine 64 vs Boult at Mumbai vs NZ.

November 16 India will play test vs Srilanka at Calcutta.indian team declared for first two test with no Prithvi but ISHANT and Vijay returned but Mukund dropped.

Some Life lessons that we can learn from Nehraji!

Well, there have been more Tests scheduled before then, but can we revisit this topic again please? I say if you're good enough you're old enough.

There is no place for him right now. Vijay and Rahul being the regulars are in good form and Dhawan ( team backs him up ) as backup.

He has scored another century in Ranji today. The guy is a very solid bat and I agree with you. No harm in fasttracking him to the national side.
