India tour of Australia - 2018/19

We were lucky with Finch.

When I saw the score I was happy with it but when I saw the fall of wickets, it was disappointing we didn't reach atleast 350. Happy with Rahane's score. As I said he was in the zone yesterday but a reckless shot to get out.

I have been so impressed with Bumrah. Quality. Its line, length and pace. Great to see this from India. The cricket world needs sorely pacers like this. Can only hope Pakistan go against their grain and produce a quality batsman now. Ishant has looked mediocre however. At his pace, he needs way more movement. I'm still scratching my head over Bhuvneshwar's exclusion. Hopefully also, the Ashwin detractors can see how important he is to India as well.

No it's not, it may have been something that he just came up with. But for the time being Puji sounds better :p

Lol yeah, I just came up with it.He was called Steve Pujara in England.

To lose or to win ?

I meant that if we score 275 and above, we will win 90% and shouldn't lose. We scored 307.Australia need to score 323 ,which looks improbable on this surface and the are already 4 down for 106

A very good day for India. It can't get any better than this. 200+ runs/6 wickets to go. It could go either way, but I think India will fancy their chances.

I think Australia missed a trick by not being a little aggressive. Knowing Kohli, he would have had the field spread out had 6-7 boundaries been scored in a span of 3-5 overs. That would have made batting a tad easier. In any case, 5th day is bound to be full of drama.

To be honest, I have always considered Bumrah an ordinary good bowler. Seeing his pace, line and length in Australia. Quite impressed. He has a good future if he keeps on working like this and dont fall flat like some other emerging Indian pacers in the past[DOUBLEPOST=1544348900][/DOUBLEPOST]To add to this match, Its hugely surprizing the defensive approach Australian batting produced. Langer says that its a young team, Fair enough but Khawaja, Shaun Marsh and Finch had more than enough experience to take responsibility and play their natural game. Perhaps, Australia fell into its own trap by making a spinning track like this

What is more worrying to me as a Pakistani fan that Bumrah has surpassed our current bowlers in death (With Yorkers). Bumrah has chosen and learned the best art of bowling in death, the yorkers. Which unfortunately I don't see our bowlers bowling that frequently

To be honest Australia gifted their wickets to us. So, even if Australia get to about 100 runs from now on without losing a wicket we would be behind in this match by a fair margin. I expect better bowling than this if we are to win this one

They can't do anything much about it. It's a multipurpose ground, so Cricket is not the only sport being played at the Adelaide Oval. Playing sports other than Cricket have damaged the surface quite a bit that is why they are providing us a drop-in pitch rather than a seaming track. Though, things were different a couple of years ago

Perhaps, over confidence have started to grow in the Pakistani camp and that is why they aren't at their best currently. Till 2013-14 Pakistan had the most balanced bowling line-up be it spin, pace, medium-pace, etc. Bowlers like Saeed Ajmal lacked technical support that is why when at the later stages of his career when he started chucking, it went unnoticed which was later noticed by ICC resulting in a ban. Junaid Khan had few fitness issues in the past which has affected his efficiency. And Wahab Riaz, wonder what happened to him that he forgot his accuracy and just started concentrating on pace. Even if we talk about Amir he hasn't lived his potential, wonder why he is said to be the greatest ever bowler produced by Pakistan. He isn't even able to pick wickets in ODIs this year while great bowlers are the ones who try find ways to get wickets even in their worst form which he hasn't even tried. Even Hassan Ali showed great promise but he is nowhere near where he was last year. It's Shadab alone who has shown some spark in this line-up everytime he comes in to bowl

We don't know if it is over confidence or what. But when you play the same pool of players and pick players in Test and ODI based on PSL performances. You get this result. Wahab Riaz has no brains, Ajmal didn't have support from PCB, Junaid Khan caught up in injury, Hasan Ali, well he had a peak in 2017, he is still bowling really well but if you compare his performance to CT17 then obviously every other bowler comes to shame. M Amir is the one that has surprised me the most. He looks a different bowler altogether after CT17.

In T20s Pakistan will be good like they always were. The two main problems I notice is in tactics of bowling and not selecting deserving batsman in the team.

Chasing in 4th innings always has pressure, and the ground is also deteriorated comparatively. Moreover we haven't used our greatest weapons properly

1) new ball
2) 4th innings Shami( he is an excellent bowler in 4th innings)
3) inexperience of Aussies which will result in them gifting us more wickets

Pakistan actually improved on t20i this year if compared to 2017.

You are talking about no.1 ranking. I was talking about general rankings. Pakistan was always one of the best T20 sides.
