India tour of Australia - 2018/19

Yes, it was India's day but Australia also did not allow India to run away with the day and kept them down to just 215.
That actually isn't that bad. It was very much needed. I think India did very well to be just 2 wickets down, especially with the all the changes and uncertainty over the openers. I would have taken this score at the start of the day as that must have been a bit demoralizing for the Australians to see India showing fight and grit.

I have a feeling we are in for a dull and a boring draw in this test match.
Yes, a draw seems probable at the moment, but I'm hoping the pitch starts to do something by day 3. Given Australia's not-so-experienced batting order, it should help Indian bowlers to force their batsmen to make mistakes if they manage to contain them the way their bowlers did.

Also, it's such a delight to see Pujara perform in this series. I hope this shuts down all the criticism regarding his SR and other stuff. Test cricket deserves players like him. Hope Kohli doesn't bother him again in near future.

Very attritional batting continues due to the surface and both teams sorta know where the pitch is heading and so are kinda consigned to the kind of game that they are playing right now. It's basically down to how much India want to wait to see if this wicket breaks up as they want it. And also they need to get past the 400 mark here. They can't bat too long as it eats into time. I would say they unleash themselves right now and use Rohit, Pant, Jadeja to go bonkers even if it means losing quick wickets and maybe getting bowled out before 400.

Australia has to start batting tonight.

P.s: Superb knock from Pujara! This is going to be his best ever overseas performance and so glad that he has shut everyone up and rightfully taken his place among India's leading batsman overseas.

Any idea where I can watch it live online? Even with a 5-minute delay is fine. Usually, I would go to hotstar or espn.in, but both seem to not have it.

India have not used this session and the last well enough. They should ideally have put the Aussies in for 10 overs tonight but the NRR is just too slow for it.

So signs of slogging in the last two overs. If that is indeed the case, expect India to fold up by 460-ish.

Fixed it for you mate.

I expect this to be a dead draw.

For neutrals this is a boring test but it always is when team batting first scores 400 plus at slow run rate

I just didn't understand the partnership between Sharma and Pant. The strategic side of this team is inexplicable.

It looked as if it was quite difficult to time the ball and also the odd ones were staying low. They have ensured that they don't lose this one that easily and made sure that Australia had the pressure of scoreboard and the bounce over here is getting quite uneven. It's still a very good score

Rohit Sharma was absolutely middling everything. Rishabh Pant played an over of Finch and he was not even giving him credit for a 'net' bowler. The intent was definitely absent and if there were two batters India would have liked to have in the middle to put the hammer down, it would be these two. It almost seemed like they both didn't have the message to get going. A lot has been said about Sharma and his test batting, but in that particular situation he is the best bloke to have at the centre. I have also never seen Sharma play for any personal milestone ahead of a team's requirements. It was just shoddy captaincy, tactics and there is frankly no management.

Bumrah is going to be the gun bowler for us on this wicket. He was bowling almost 150 clicks and he has the weird action and accuracy to make it jump and hoot. Shami I hope can keep the dams closed because he can go for plenty on this wicket.

We never know what he might bring into his bowling. He is a bowler who was our best bowler among all 3 format and was leading the rest of our bowlers by a far margin. Infact he used to be way better than Bhuvneshwar Kumar during 2014-15 season. Injuries hampered his career otherwise he would've been as good as Zak till now. I hope we get see him at his best once again in near future :thumbs

Really nice to see him improve and come this far ahead after what happened in CT'17, was looking absolutely ineffective in that tournament and he is back again at his best. Never thought we would get this sort of bowling line-up.
