India tour of Australia Nov'20-Jan'21

If this is a breach, it should be dealt with very seriously. If this is a breach, Rohit Sharma really needs to ask himself some serious questions. Seasoned pro behaving like a child after all the farce pertaining to his selection on a day the BCCI chairman has had a cardiac arrest. Ridiculous!
They went to a restaurant to eat two days ago. That post was from January 1st. It was not on the day Dada had cardiac arrest. Also if the BCCI president has cardiac arrest, it does not mean players should stop their routine life.

I however am on the same page where if they broke the covid protocol, they need to be penalized. There is no excuse since its not routine as normal. However, there are another two players lucked out and are not mentioned.

Ravindra Jadeja and Hanuma Vihari were smoking Hukkah at a local Hukkah bar. I know this cause my sister is in Australia completing her masters. She was in the same hukkah bar and she got a photo of them. They even spoke to me via whatsapp video call upon my sister’s insistence.

Now, I completely understand that its tough being in isolation and quarantine. It takes a mental toll on players health and West Indies cricket is the best example where they have denied touring Bangladesh on the same reason.

I also feel bad for the guy who posted this since social media is so tweaked up. The day he posted entire social media was like awwww... and now everyone is literally abusing him for destroying India’s chances to win the next match.

Another thing on this incident, entire management team should be penalized as well. Are they not monitoring what players are doing? They should be looking after them.. whats stopping a bookie to meet the players?

Lastly, in Australia there is crowd in the stadium. How is this different? Like I understand players sit in the dressing room, but there are crowds and there is a high possibility of a breakout compared to meeting 5-10 people in a restaurant.

Different reports are saying different things. Some saying that the breach was going out to a restaurant is a breach. One is saying going out and to an open air restaurant is acceptable, but indoors was a breach. Another one is saying, indoor dining is also acceptable - it's the interaction with a fan which is the breach. As usual BCCI excelling in communication and in putting out facts.

If there has indeed been a breach, the players need to be reprimanded. Its an absolute privelege to be travelling to Australia for a full series (ask our women's cricket team) and to flout the rules set for that series is just unacceptable. Very disappointed with Sharmaji - he has just arrived after a lot of hoopla and is the senior player in the group, and should have known better. And the other 3 are no kids either. If there has been a breach, they should be suspended for the next game - even if it means ruining our chances

The whole going out thing is confusing . KL Rahul & others posted a photo of going out in 31st eve which seems like an outdoor pic.

Sources also says that it was drizzling outside so players accused (Sharma ji & co.) went inside the restaurant & then that Over excited fan Exploded in twitter.

Alleged Bio bubble breach: BCCI set to back its players as 5 sent in isolation, investigation launched

Also yesterday this happened at Hobart in the BBL.

Cricinfo is saying the Indian players might boycott the Gabba test if they have to go into hard lockdown.

My gut feeling is that no protocol was breached and that this is being stirred up by the Aussie media and now the Indian board are giving it back in kind. Cricket Australia better fall in line if they expect the BCCI to ever help them again because I know dada and he will not take kindly to this nonsense.

The quarantine rules are put in place by the Queensland government. And a similar situation occurred during the BBL.[DOUBLEPOST=1609707861][/DOUBLEPOST]The BCCI medical team was consulted, by the way.

Is there any official line from the government that says these guys are in violation?

Don’t know, CA just said they’re in isolation "pending investigation". Not a lot of clarity from the boards, and the media is filling the gap with speculation.

Contradictory if crowds allowed but players in hotel quarantine, says Team India | Cricbuzz.com

I think all the confusion occurred when the Brisbane quarantine came into the equation. I think India initially were asked to hard quarantine only once they enter Australia and then follow the usual quarantine protocols. However, the Brisbane hotel quarantine wasn't something that they were expecting.

The team source has also revealed that the last information they received from Cricket Australia's medical team regarding Brisbane came last week where they were informed that they "couldn't leave their respective floors". And that the Indians had immediately refused to accept these conditions.

"We were told by their medical team that we wouldn't be allowed to leave our respective floors in the hotel. The senior team management immediately said that these conditions weren't acceptable for us. That's the last we heard about the matter," the source said.

There were reports in Australia on Sunday where Queensland's chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young was quoted saying that the teams might not have to be confined to their hotel rooms in Brisbane and instead have "bubbles within the hotel" where they could meet each other.

"We are not in favour of hotel quarantine and being asked to stay confined indoors, especially at this stage of the tour. We will follow all the protocols that are in place by the government if it means wearing masks while stepping out for a meal or completely avoiding 'red zones' and 'hot spots'," the source said.

"The players only went indoors to eat because it started raining. We don't understand why those five players need to be isolated or be asked to sit separately on the flight, especially after they have tested negative for the virus," the insider said.

This seemed really dodgy to me especially isolating those five players if they have been tested negative. Australian media is nothing new to Indian fans but they are just taking it to another level this time.

I know Australia really wants to travel to Brisbane because of their amazing record there but they also need to realize that especially during these times, it is better if they stick to a couple of venues just like how the limited-overs series was scheduled.

Indian team is expected to be in "bio bubble/quarantine" even after testing negative because to avoid the risk of exposure to the virus and then bringing it in the players circle of both the teams.
The government has set the standards and the visitors should follow that.
If I remember correctly something similar happened to Pakistan team in New Zealand and the general consensus was if the government seemed fit they should be sent back and I believe that should be the case here too.
