India tour of Australia Nov'20-Jan'21

Curious to know why do you think so? What benefit would they or the Australian team get by doing it?

Human emotion. Probably the most powerful energy on earth. Can you imaging the backlash on someone like Rohit Sharma if he was in breach of protocol and unintentionally sabotaged his own team's chances by acting irresponsibly?

I have not seen so many injuries in an Indian squad. It's like 2020 hasn't ended. Even the president of the board is out for the punch. Surreal if you ask me.

It does play into their advantage if that happens, but I highly doubt that would be the case. Playing mind games is one thing but trying to enforce penalties and severe lashing from the public seems a little far fetched.

My question is - do they really need to do that? I'm sure they know they are 1-Smith innings away from wrestling back the control from India. This is not to say India didn't outplay them in the 2nd Test but it's only a matter of time before the big giant wakes up and sends us on a leather hunt. With talks of Warner also being included for the 3rd Test (even if he is not 100% fit) augurs well for them.

I personally feel that Australia have now adopted a different type of sledging. But, let's see. Time will tell.

My gut feeling is that no protocol was breached and that this is being stirred up by the Aussie media and now the Indian board are giving it back in kind. Cricket Australia better fall in line if they expect the BCCI to ever help them again because I know dada and he will not take kindly to this nonsense.

I thought the same thing yesterday when I read this! This "Gabba boycott" is a retaliation from India to the Aussies/Aussie media blow up of the bio bubble breach by Indian players.

Also read a quote on Cricbuzz (not sure if official) that quotes Indian team as saying "if fans can come to the stadium, dont ask us to quarantine. Stop treating us as animals in a zoo". This is a valid statement. What infection are the players going to spread, that the fans won't spread? They will follow the social distancing protocols and must be allowed to go out. There is no video of an Indian player hugging a fan or anything. A fan just paid a bill and got a handshake. Maybe the player then washed his hands and didn't touch his face.

This is a very unique situation and cant blame the players much. When the country is safe enough to let people into stadiums for so long, the players must feel frustrated that they're being treated differently

Exactly my thoughts. I mean you can have around 30,000 people in the stadium but you can't allow players to move out of their rooms? What a irony this is!!!! Also people in the stadium itself doesn't seem to be maintaining social distancing. The extra restrictions in place seem unnecessary for sure.

I think this is a pretty much bang on post. Even if this is a protocol, I am 99% sure the Indian team will not breach it because of the competition and professionalism involved. They were placed in isolation and have returned negative tests. Something for some reason has been very fishy from day 1 about this tour. The lack of information and transparency on every issue is just mind numbing in today's day and age. I almost feel as if the team is on some space mission to Mars and it takes days or months for info to be sent.

From the player point of view, if the Aussies have any sense, they will stop poking the Indians about the Gabba. It's exactly the sort of tonic this team actually needs.

I remember in the good old days of Covid when Jofra Archer broke the regulations and guidelines that were in place for the wellbeing of him and others and was stood down for one match. But, in hindsight, that was probably a conspiracy by the West Indian media.

Indian Players Involved In More Possible Covid Protocol Violations: Report | Cricket News

So now Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya are being investigated as well for visiting a baby store during the limited over series. Again, I have stated this before and will state this again that if the protocols were breached, fine them, penalize them even though they have tested negative. Also its completely nonsense that the Australian media is cooking this up to play mind games. Come on guys, the photo about the bill getting paid was posted by an Indian on twitter. Also more then the players, I would penalize the management for allowing them to go out IF and a big IF they were not allowed to go out.

On the Brisbane test match, looks like one thing was said before the series and now another is being said. If Indian team does not want to stay in hard quarantine and if it was not what was mentioned in the MOU, they have all the rights to not go to Brisbane and play. Nathan Lyon with his nonsense of pull up your socks and play has no clue on what Indian players have gone through with the bio bubble and all since the IPL started while he was at home watching matches. So no, if the team does not want to be in the hard quarantine because it was not what was said, they are free to make the decision.

On the other hand, if there is something in the MOU that states about following updated rules and regulations from the government, India has to go to Brisbane, follow the countries rules and regulations and pull up their socks, no two way about that.

On the match, I have a feeling we are due for Warner Smith bashing. India to lose by an innings and 30 runs perhaps.

I just want to see one statement from the Aussie government stating categorically that the Indians were in breach of protocols with proof. That's it. If it is so, I have no issue sending them back or placing bans for games.

I can retort to your petty little dig but I don't want to make it about India vs England because this horrific disease sees none of that and I am past the age to have a ding dong with you purely because you're English. It would not be fair on the great country.
