India tour of England 2018

Virat shouldn't change his batting position. He should either open or bat at #3 in T20 format.

I'll break down your posts to multiple quotes to make you understand about Rahul and opening position:
It's funny to see people talking about Rohit batting down the order despite having best stats as opener in the whole world in entire history
Even Don Bradman had best average in the history of cricket. So did that mean he should be playing all the years and not retire? Just an example.
A player averaging about more than 60 in last 3 years of his career is being doubted just because he failed on just one particular tour.
He is definitely not being judged for not performing in a tour. If it was so, he wouldn't have been in the squad for England tour.

There were many points in your post which I wanted to quote but it takes a hell lot of time. So let me continue this: Do you remember champions trophy 2013? Was Rohit a genuine opener or had been opening the innings for India regularly before that? But still Dhoni promoted him from middle order to open the innings. And you are talking about 11 months remaining for WC. How it is not possible to ask Rahul to open and Rohit to bat in middle order? You have 11 months and there are number of series to get that balance. For your kind information, Rahul is a genuine opener who was asked to bat at no.4 in IPL 2016. He performed and people started considering him as middle order batsman but the fact is that he is the genuine opener. Rohit was the middle order batsman for many years and he can easily go back to his previous position when compared to Rahul who has played very limited games in middle order.

With Rahul in opening slot and Rohit in the middle order, middle order gets more experienced batsman which we were looking for sometime now.

Here in USA, Willow TV is broadcasting and we got the Sky Sports commentators. The Asian team consists of Harbhajan Singh and Sanga. Now Sanga is really sensible and soft spoken. I did not get a chance to hear Harbhajan as I am working and he came on post Lunch.
I did switch to sky via unofficial online streamduring the Indian batting.Harbhajan was OK to say the least as this was his first stint as a commentary but at times really struggled to complete a sentence much like Akram/Younis as a commentator in their early days.

As Kushal said, Kohli has to bat at #3. I really hope they don't experiment with his position in ODI. Kohli said the batting order is going to be flexible in only T20I, but I don't like Kohli batting anywhere else apart from his usual position.

Solid win to start off the tour, Kuldeep was exceptional while KL stole the show for me. To me our playing eleven for the match looked probably our strongest one in the recent times, well balanced and how it is supposed to be.

I look forward to the ODIs and more importantly the Tests which to me is the ultimate challenge, will be keeping an eye on how Kohli performs here.

How unlucky that I missed watching the live streaming of that that Rahul century... Watched highlights today! Absolutely sensational! The innings was just so beautiful to watch. KLR (KL Rahul) looks all set to enter India's batting superstars club if he keeps going like this.

And I loved the way Kohli demoted himself down to No. 4 in order to have KLR at No. 3. And I envision that Kohli will keep doing more of it to ensure that India maximizes their returns in the Powerplay. The more you see of Rahul, the more Rohit is going to look slower if he continues to follow the old template of "start slow and set the platform". In a way, KLR is going to put huge pressure on Rohit Sharma. That could be great for India. With Dinesh Karthik and Manish Pandey lurking on the sidelines, Rohit Sharma has to get his A-game right or could risk not being selected in the XI for some games (obviously he will be in the squad though). Also, beautiful bowling from Kuldeep. The googlies came out superb. Very satisfying performance that! Fingers crossed, this show goes on for long!

KL Rahul at 3 means he won't bat in the power play all the time. He has to bat there every time. Once he's set and he doesn't take time to get set, once he does that he generally kicks on. I 100% agree about the hunger bit. He is like a young lion at the moment and probably the most dangerous one in the pack. Let him feed on the meat.

While KL is very very exciting, Virat has been the best ODI player our country has seen since Tendulkar of the 90's. I'm not including MSD or Yuvraj in that because they performed different roles.. VK has to bat 3. KL and Dhawan open and Rohit at 4. To be honest, if you're not going to use Raina for his bowling I'd pick DK ahead of him. Bat him at 6 to give that 'cushion' to MS and Hardik at 7. I also feel having seen the AUS ENG series, I'd play Umesh ahead of Chahal. 3 seamers, 1 chinaman, Pandya and Raina. I'd only play Chahal on a really dry surface against teams that struggle against spin.

When Rohit plays a T20, you are guaranteed to have atleast 6 balls going to waste (dot balls). He is so awesome !!!! Full of talent

And then he will go for shots to make up ... failing 75% of the time. IPL Sharma ftw

So called consistent goes for 6.

I have to agree with you. He is not at all consistent if you meany KL Rahul. He has to learn consistency from Rohit Sharma who fails innings after innings now that is some consistency correct? KL Rahul is just an ordinary player who is scoring runs and has failed few times. He has to consistently fail and give competition to Rohit Sharma

Just zero intent with the bat.[DOUBLEPOST=1530900012][/DOUBLEPOST]Dhoni struggling again.. Can't for the life of me get why Kohli didn't play his natural game!

No one is able to play their natural game except Rohit Sharma (he is one lucky guy who gets to play his natural game of blocking blocking out!) is because the pitch is low and slow. The ball is not coming onto the bat and there is the odd ball moving. A 140 total should be a good total and can be defended.

Not in a mood to start a battle here but Rohit has scored 12 hundreds in 2016-18, just a dip in form, Rahul has just played a good knock and people are like Rohit needs to go!
