India tour of Ireland (2 T20Is) & England (1 Test, 3 ODIs & 3 T20Is)

With his quick scoring, Bairstow has single handedly given England some chance of staying alive in the Test, even if it's a tiny one. If the deficit is trimmed down to two digits, they can expect a batting collapse and then go for the win. Easier said than done though. India still well ahead.

From India's standpoint they should try to keep the lead in three figures. It feels like a 2nd innings collapse is oncoming. Take out the last two wickets within 20-30 runs. Easier said than done here too.
England are missing their 3rd seamer in this game. With proper openers and Ollie Robinson, England would be well ahead in this game. But again even India are missing KLR & Rohit.

Indian Batting Collapse coming soon.

Wouldn't even say it's a tiny chance, could well be a decent possibility. The vulnerable top four could implode and India be all out for 150, giving England a 280 odd target. They'd get home by five wickets once again like they did against NZ with similar targets. Might have to rely on captain Bumrah once again to smack Broady around the park for a decent target.

Suddenly Pujara have started to middle almost everything talks about how much confident India have when playing with a lead. I am getting a feeling that India are going to score over 350 once again.

India should start attacking from the first inorder to win or draw the match

I feel for him really. It must really be demoralizing to see everyone around you scoring centuries for fun. The dry run keeps getting longer.
I completely agree. No-one goes out there actively seeking to do poorly, and nor is there any chance that he'd be unaffected by it. For all the memes, I feel similarly sorry for Zak Crawley on a human level. By all accounts he's a top guy and a really hard worker, and no-one could ever accuse Virat of laziness either.

Very sad to see Kohli getting dismissed every time I think he is going to go big

India need to set a target around 400-450 for England to be completely safe here. I agree that 4th innings chases can be tricky, however, the way the English treated the Kiwis makes you want that extra level of protection around.

To Virat Kohil's form- I believe he has been given enough chances now. If you can drop Pujara, Rahane, etc. Have the balls to drop Kohli until he storms back to form. India seriously needs to move over its fascination of treating superstars differently. Admit the ball that got him out reared unevenly, however, he hasn't looked that good in this series. Might be a good time to take a break and go away from it all.

With two days to go, the Test is evenly poised. We will have a result for sure. India is doing about okay at the moment. But agree with the notion that we will need to set a target of in excess of 400. Anything less than 325-ish and this England side might even successfully chase that.

Every innings of VK is a pain to watch. No sooner than he seems to get in the groove, he gets out. He should possibly take a break and come come stronger. There's still a good 2-4 years of cricket left in him.

Regarding S.Iyer, how he fares today could well be indicative of his future in the Test team (at least for now). It was disappointing to see Gill fail in both innings as well. He looked promising in the 1st innings. Vihari I think did an okay job. He didn't get the runs but he was able to occupy the crease.

Good to see Pujara get a well deserved 50. If he manages get a hundred tomorrow, I think India might well come out winning the series. Pant may get out at any time. You take what you get with him.

Jadeja, the poor guy, might need to come up with another useful contribution after that brilliant 100. I think there was a stat somewhere that he currently has the highest percentage of runs scored with the tail (something in the range of 33% of this career runs)

Pretty pleased with the way Bumrah and Shami have bowled. Shami, in particular, should have had more wickets to his name. He also had a catch dropped off of him. Siraj, though expensive, also bowled well and got us wickets at crucial junctures.

Anyone saw the twitter prank that KP did on Ravi Shastri? A hilarious one if one is across the history between Hussain and Shastri.
