India tour of New Zealand 2020 - 5 T20Is, 3 ODIs, 2 Tests

Craig mcmillan is having huge Orgasm in the comm box it seems.

Those ooh sounds really horrible.

Another superb knock from Roscoe after that horrible middle over collapse. He is aging like fine wine!

Just because he replaced Santner in the team doesn't mean Chapman, a number four for his domestic side should be batting at eight, especially ahead of Neesham and CdG in the midst of a collapse. :facepalm

Also bringing in Southee, a wild slogger ahead of Jamieson who actually has a century versus England was another terrible move. Let's not mention the brilliant decision to send a spinner to the A side to prepare for tests when he isn't even the third choice, leaving them a bowler short.

If India take this game deep, they are bound to win. NZ lack a reliable sixth bowler and none of their frontline pacers are good at death overs. All three of them seem too similar to me.

Jamieson looks a good exciting prospect and so far has been spot on with Length he is bowling getting Shaw Out early batted well too alongside Taylor stringing together a handy 10th wicket partnership.

Overall a great debut so far.

Yikes, that dismissal was classic 2018 Rahul.

Game on - series on the line and the big old problem is back again top order failed the onus is now on the middle order - will it fail again like its been doing for the past few years ?

This has pretty much been a repeat of the same old semi final issue. Batsmen playing needless shots when the target is achievable instead of grinding through the initial phase and wearing down the opponent, followed by Jadhav doing what DK did and try to stabilize only to fail as they overdid it in the opposite way.

This situation would have been perfect for Pandey. He is capable of rotating the strike effortlessly with the odd boundary, relieving pressure on Iyer and taking the game deep against a side with only three proper bowlers.

The Kiwis know that they have won this match now. No way India winning this one. Congratulations we would get whitewashed now. Great achievement ! :p[DOUBLEPOST=1581150271][/DOUBLEPOST]And that is why you shouldn't risk by playing 2 debutants at top of the order when you have an experienced player to perform that role. Things would've been lot better if Rahul opened. Atleast there would've been someone who could've stayed right till the end.

Jadeja's shown enough competence with the bat to allow India to play Pandya alongside him in the top 7 once he returns. Hell, we were basically promoting Pandya to 5 throughout the WC, this does mean that the team trust him enough to be good enough.

Top notch captaincy from Latham today, knew that India would easily chase if he wasn't aggressive and went all for it. Was also a breath of fresh air in the final test in Australia. Should he get a few more games as the captain while Williamson recharges himself?

I hope that he gave Southee all of his overs upfront because he realised his inability to bowl at the death reliably rather than because of his sickness. Southee bowled well too despite being sick.

I like how this Indian side seems to fight back even until the very end. Proper grit and determination. Wish the actual batsman show more of it when needed rather than the 'intent' they seem to come up with. :rolleyes

I don’t know what it will take for us to promote Jadeja at 6 and let him bat there for a year. I can just see how invincible this team can be!

And Rahul is wasted where he’s batting! The monstrosity of his talent and the tone he can set alone means he should open. Pant in at 5 and to keep!

Rohit
Rahul
Kohli
Iyer
Pant
Jadeja
Pandya

The bowling can shuffle around as per injuries. But this should be our de facto 7.

New Zealand just proved us that we were not worthy to be in that finals of 2019 WC.

Brilliant stuff from Navdeep Saini with the bat. His innings of 45 today might prove to be a massive blessing psychologically for India as we're looking for bowlers who can lend a "more than useful" hand with the bat. This means that when Shami comes back in, it'll be Thakur who will be the one to go out and we'll still feel safe knowing that Saini can bat.

I hope someone soon closes the lid on Kedar Jadhav's international career. The guy's done for good and there's no way we can fit him into any national side. India have not played their best side here (our ODI lynch pins Rohit, Dhawan are missing and Shami/Bhuvi/Chahar are missing too) but still this is a good understanding of where we stand when injuries hit us.
