India tour of New Zealand - Jan to Feb 2014

Just does not look an international player to my eyes, but you never know...I've definitely been wrong before!

Ditto. He seems like a bits and pieces player - someone who might be successful in the shortest format of the game, but a 50-over game might be too long to handle for him.

I watched the end on the Western side of the South stand, at least 9/10 of the people there were Indian supporters, that six off the second to last ball was the loudest noise I've ever heard. I'm pretty sure the West stand was the only place where there were more New Zealand supporters.

It was a great game at to be at, pretty gutting to let it slip like that at the end though. Never though I'd see 28,000 people at a cricket match in New Zealand, so at the end of the day "Cricket was the winner".

Yea I was really surprised with the turnout too, I got my tickets at the gate and was surprised to find they only had the East stand left

My problem with some of the wides (not sure if these were the last over ones) is that some of the Indians were batting outside leg stump, so the bowler bowls a yorker at their feet but then the batsmen are jumping inside it so it goes just down leg side but in reality it was bowling straight at where they were originally standing.

No one has ever been able to tell me why the wide lines are different in Test and ODI cricket, when the definition of a wide is still the same. If a ball is just down leg side and it's not too wide in a Test why is it too wide in an ODI?
.

Yea I agree, I think as soon as you move outside leg stump (or off stump for that matter), the wide lines should change based on where you are now

^Lots of love for Rohit today! :D He's managed to get 68* thus far. Waiting to see how Stuart Binny goes. Just does not look an international player to my eyes, but you never know...I've definitely been wrong before!

You're not this time. I've had it with Rohit Sharma. Not only does he suck but he affects his partner because he never takes singles.

^ no just info on the release date, missed the whole innings btw and reading cricinfo commentary of changes didnt expect india to bat first...

Does anyone remember a batsman walking for LBW?

What sort of captaincy is this by Dhoni? Instead of putting pressure on NZ by trying to get either Taylor or Williamson out, here he is bringing on Binny and Rayudu into bowl. I seriously think his captaincy and defensive mindset is the cause of a lot of rut that Indian cricket is in at the moment.

i have a feeling that this going to go down like CT final a bit, but who is the miracle bowler today?
binny?

Dare I say again - Not looking good at the moment. There goes the series.

Not necessarily, a wicket and India are right back in this.

Yeah, without Anderson and McCullum in horrible form you just never know, as long as this partnership is broken soon.

And there you go lol

We have fallen short of runs definitely.. With 5 wickets in hand, we should have reached 300! Too much newbies in line up, has turned as gamble that didn't work.

I think Pujara needs to play in Indias next ODI series if they have any hope of retaining the world cup, I could see him playing a very similar role to what Williamson has for us in this series.

Pujara is a brilliant player. I am sure many people will say the same, he has to be there. Both in ODIs as well as the tests and not only tests. He can be a perfect number 3/4 in ODIs. Sometimes, I just don't get why people label him as test only player.

Well played Ross Taylor :clap
