the indian bowlers will have to toil hard to get the remaining kiwi wickets as the surface has slowed down considerably, the edges dont seem to be carrying.

I'm watching it. The ball quite obviously should have been refered and if it was it NO WAY would have been given out. Benefit to the batsman. The ball hit the grass 99% for me. Just because your biased eye couldn't believe it.

Benefit to the batsman is only given when he stays at the crease and doubts the catch wasnt taken cleanly just like Dhoni stayed there earlier in the indian inning.
Unfortunately when Ganguly asked for the third umpire referral in the Sydney test Ricky Ponting acted as a Fourth Umpire and didnt let the onfield umpires to ask for the third umpire's decision.Thats where the difference is.

And if Sachin didnt take the catch cleanly why was his finger bleeding?Becoz it was under the ball.See yourself.

Sachin you little dirty liar , what a filthy cheat ey.....;) Kiwis should start burning effigies , sack the umpire and threaten to take bat & ball and go home (well stay home). All jokes aside , I expect lot of people to go with the old ' the replays are too inconclusive' line in this case but the reality is when it comes to these catches replays will always be inconclusive. So I don't understand why batsman can't accept fielders word for it.

Not looking good for the kiwis. Still have Mccullum and Vettori though. An innings victory would be very demoralising. This is how we should play to really get number 1 and maintain it.

Only thing New Zealand can do now is to avoid an innings loss. They pretty close now. They're only 26 runs behind with 2 wickets left.

  • Batsmen/umpires can't accept fielders words. Remember Ponting told Umpire once that its out and umpire gave. Thats cheap. Sachin didn't do that. He just was quite contended and never interfered with umpire's decision
  • Replays are the one which Third umpires has to go by! If you don't want replays.. well and good then, on field umpires felt that he has taken catch cleanly and hence given out, take it!
  • Stop it if you don't know about Sachin!

Anyways, India are in commanding position! Eagerly waiting for that historic win but it's getting delayed. And I feel, McCullum should play his natural game if Kiwis had to get the lead quickly. Staying too much defensive is making the match so boring.

I really hated the tactics followed by Dhoni during last one hour,

  • Why was Yuvi given the new ball?
  • Where was Ishant/Munaf that time when Yuvi was given the new ball?
  • Why did Yuvi got the ball ahead of Sehwag who is a very good partnership breaker!
  • Why the fielders have to spread the field for McCullum. It's just horrible field tactics. If you can get the top 5, why can't McCullum? If Ponting would have been there, definitely the field set would be attacking and wrapping the match by an innings! Just a horrible tactics towards the end spreading the field for McCullum when he was on just 20!

Was completely disappointed. Again the umpires.. mistakes keep happening. McCullum was clean out but not given.. But I don't see any bat on Brein's dismissal but given out! Very strange.

How gutless is Virender Sehwag - Sending Rahul Dravid out to open to protect his average.

This is why he'll never be anywhere near as good as Hayden, because he doesn't play for the team, he plays for himself. Sehwag knows that he can't play in difficult conditions, that's why he averages under 10 with the bat as an opener in South Africa & New Zealand after several matches.

Hayden opened the batting in every single Test innings he played, even in the difficult patches at the end of the day, where nothing was to be gained. It's not only because Hayden was a way better batsman then Sehwag but because of little things like this that make Hayden bigger then Sehwag will ever be. It's a joke that Sehwag is even mentioned in the same breathe as Hayden.

Well done to Gautam Gambhir though, a much better opening batsman then Virender Sehwag!

Lol! Ben, that post beats some of Funknath's!

EDIT: It finds its way into my signature. :D

Great win for us.But I have to blame Dhoni to have delayed it a bit too much.
Could have wrapped them up earlier than that. But that is how this man forces things. He thinks things differently.Anyways Nice win for us.Lets hope for a 3-0 whitewash.

Sehwag has made his mind that India would not come back to batting again .. but because of Dhoni's poor tactics in last 90 minutes, India was made to bat.. May be, Sehwag from anger, he didn't come into bat :p why blaming Viru? Blame Dhoni! :D

Sachin!!! Sachin!!! Sachin!!! Motm.. I am the happiest person now :happy:happy:happy

@ Manee(I don't know whether you are seeing this), everytime Sachin gets on to his best which happens frequently these days, I keep reminding your Wrong article everytime(either by posting or + rep) which stated, " Tendulkar can never dominate again! ". Though the article was years back, I can't forget your wrong words which I pointed you that time itself ;) Now take it! :p :D
