There's a bit of pace to the pitch and I feel a bit more aggression from the pacemen would reap dividends. India don't have a lot of sheer pace at their disposal but someone like Sharma does have the capacity to bang the ball in and rattle the batsman. As it stands, Zaheer Khan has bowled or attempted about three quarters of India's bouncers and yet he's the shortest and slowest of the pace bowlers.

Franklin gets one in his favour, a little nick but not given out. Watching live, I would probably have given McIntosh and Franklin the same decisions as they have gotten. McIntosh looked and sounded way more out without even hitting the ball.

Franklin deserved that bad decision after he got one against him last game. NZ deserved it after the McIntosh one. Yuvraj is villain of the day. Dropped 2 catches, 1 very costly and who nows how much the other one will cost. If Franklin and Ryder survive til stumps i'll be thrilled.

What is going on? haha Munaf.. :D Well to be honest, it seems bowlers are going to get no assistance from this pitch. When India comes into bat, we have to see it though.

As soon as Sehwag came as a captain, he finally got the ball. This shows how desperate he was when Dhoni gave to Yuvraj the ball :p

yuvraj is useless in test matches. He cant keep his concentration on the game for long, shows when he is batting and fielding.

Great effort by Yuvraj, he's a brilliant asset to the Black Caps. :D

Also I'll give a special mention to Munaf Patel, he worked so hard for us out there today. :clap

Great fightback from the Black Caps. If they can get about 500 runs on the board, they'll put a lot of pressure on us.

Munaf's fielding had me laughing. That's more like the Munaf i'd been hearing about.

Wonderful! 2nd test comes after a win, the captain sits out due to an injury that no one knows when he picked, and the team right now is on track of repeating recent history where it gives things up after just one win

Why does this happen with India? Anyways since it looks a paradise' wicket, we should bat as well as we can ever possibly can. Coz we are known to fall when we have a huge total on hand to chase. we got to restrict NZ to 450 or less if we need to get back in the match. They still have Vettori who is good enough to score hundreds

Is this a flat track?

If we can rattle them out for under 500 and then if Sehwag gets going and scores a quickfire 300 and we post 700, we have a chance of winning. See my logic :thumbs

Great fightback from NZ BTW.

Munaf Patel's fielding is laughable. Hes slow, if he gets to the ball he doesn't stop it, and he can't throw. Can see why Irfan gets in ahead of him in OD cricket!

Ryder you beauty! Hope he posts 200. I reckon we should bat til an hour - 30 minutes before the close of play if we can.

Since New Zealand scored a lot of runs, I am expecting that India will do the same. New Zealand scored 448-5 at lunch, so they should be around 600 runs after their first innings.

Talk about jinxing someone :p

Cricinfo Commentary said:
123.4: Khan to Ryder, OUT, The stumps are in disarray. Ryder has dragged one on. Fullish, outside off, Ryder, who just brought up the 200, went for the big drive and got the thick edge. It happens after a landmark. What a fine innings from him, though.

JD Ryder b Khan 201 (489m 328b 24x4 1x6) SR: 61.28

123.3: Khan to Ryder, FOUR, Awesomeo! Jesse Ryder .. take a bow! 200 up in style. It was banged in short and Ryder pulls it past leg gully. Focus. Concentration. Patience. Oodles of class.

Sehwag said this at the start of the innings:

'Sehwag: MS has hurt his back and that's why I am here. It looks a good hard track; there should be bounce for seamers. It's a good toss to lose!'

In the meantime New Zealand has got quick runs from Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh's bowling.
