India tour of South Africa

This partnership needs to be broken sooner or later. These two are very much capable of winning the game for SA. Good little fightback, but Elgar and Philander need to be back in the shed soon otherwise it's game over for India.

Feel sorry for Elgar. He's fought for so long and the wickets just keep falling at the other end now. Shows what a partnership that was with Amla earlier though. This should be over soon.

Shami running over the tail!

Congrats on the win India, under the circumstances you displayed ruthless, selfless and at times unsportsmanlike behaviour on a controversial pitch that shouldve been abandoned.

A win is a win though and for most they do whatever it takes to win.

SA still win the series 2-1.

On to the ODI followed by T20.

Special thanks to everyone who conversed throughout this thread, its the first active series I have posted on in a couple years and I must say it feels good to be posting here once more.

Cheers all.

Dean Elgar needed to protect Morkel Morkel once Rabada & Philander got out but he decided to take a single :? Let's see what Ngidi do here!

India Third Test Victory outside Asia & WI in this decade but the revenge is still not taken :D

Is Elgar the first batsman to carry his bat having hit a six off his last delivery of the innings? What an effort, haha! 240 balls he was there while his team lost 9-53 around him. Fair play to India though. Well played.

Elgar played really well on that pitch... facing 240 balls and taking that nasty blows, really good cricket from him... :clap
Congrats to Indian team for winning a test match...:thumbs

Great match! India India India India!

In an era of whitewashes in favor of home teams, any overseas win is one to cherish. Lets not forget its been a really close series. The difference between the sides has hardly been a session or two. India have been well in the series. If we had held on to our catches, played Rahane and Bhuvi the whole series, the results could have gone either way. Congrats to SA on a hard fought series win. Also, kudos to the sides for staying on and playing this test on a tough track. Many captains would have taken the soft route and complained.

Its been a riveting series and frustrating at times from an Indian perspective. I said this at the start of this third test that it is a huge game for us leading up to the Eng/Aus/NZ tours. The batting has shown spine and the bowling lineup, despite the selection inconsistencies, has been up to it. For the first time since the 2007/8 overseas season, our bowling has looked competent.

Also, the ODI series will be another tough one. If we can do well in the ODIs and come back with our heads held high, the other tours will feel much easier. I have a feeling that this could be the start of something special for this side. The batting effort in the second innings was really special.

Fantastic work from India! Again they show what they can do on really tough pitches, if they get the composition and practice right. Despite having no practice and bad selections, India were in for enough parts of the first two tests.

Well done SA for playing it out here like a sport. As their batsmen showed in the initial sessions today (from what I'm hearing here), you can most certainly bat on this wicket despite the uneven bounce it had. And irony is that the guy who triggered all that huge debate yesterday about the wicket (Dean Elgar), ends up unbeaten on 86*.

Also I think bowlers around the world need to start saying "we should abandon the game as the wicket is dangerous for our career" when they face up to a flat road.... Just saying! :rolleyes:D

Missed the match after the 1st session watching the higlights now ! But it was fantastic victory for us and great series to watch overall.

SA won the series and our hearts by coming out to bat. They showed why they are Champions. Thank You for participating in the forum.

Hats off to Dean Elgar. What a batsman and he has earned himself a new fan. What a test series this has been and had our batsman stepped up and had we picked team based on merit we would have actually won this series. This was a good win and crucial win. This win as Kohli said will be remembered for a long time not because it was after a series lost, it was because this pitch was pathetic. This pitch and ground should be seriously sanctioned and fined. No team home or away deserved this.[DOUBLEPOST=1517083409][/DOUBLEPOST]Thank you South Africa for showing the sportsman spirit and playing this last inning on this shit of a wicket so well.
