Indian Tour of Sri Lanka & Triangular Series, July-August 2010

I think A fully fit Indian attack with Zack and Sree can take 20 Aussies batsmen.
But it should be a fully fit attack, we won't mind a Gambhir and Yuvraj missing in batting but Sree and Zak and Bhajji should be fully git at the least.

If we lose the No.1 rank here, will the BCCI cancel the hastily arranged test series vs Australia in October? Would be interesting to watch. They had a headache when India became No.1. Now got to see their reaction.

No Nathan McCullum in the Maharashtra match? I'm guessing it was just an opportunity to give the guys who haven't played in a while a run though. None of this Patel over McCullum when it gets serious!

Kumble

Thats a wild guess. Maybe they are trying as hard as they can, but they are not able to do anything on such lifeless wickets (it would spring to life once we start batting). I would blame our selectors who have been horrible in building our bowling stocks. And the board for picking the wrong bowling coach (what is Eric Simmons doing there?).

After Anil Kumble our bowling is toothless. Zaheer takes a couple of wickets usually and is a decent bowler, but let's face it nobody is spending sleepless nights with the thought of having to face Zaheer.

India needs to find some fiery fast bowler from somewhere. For India to have good pace bowler, they need first to have good bowling coach who can groom a potential quickie. BCCI have loads of money. Why don't they hire services of some one like Wasim, Allan Donald, Michael holding or some other legendary fast bowlers? Guys like mithun won't cut it IMO.

The match is that great that Kirsten started reading a book.

Sangakkara edges the ball to the area, where earlier on the second slip was standing. He really got away with that one. Sangakkara got his 150 runs with that ball and the way he is batting he is pretty confident, that he can reach even a bigger score.

The boredom is so much that I wont even watch India's batting (even if we bat well). If Vijay cant score on this pitch, he can hang himself. But I expect the pitch to change color when India comes out to bat.

Something needs to be done about subcontinent wickets (including India's). These are increasing boredom on tests and killing the format.

Wouldn't be a bad idea for Dhoni to bring himself on to bowl. It couldn't hurt. At this rate, Sangakkara and Jayawardene are going to pile on a huge partnership, like the 600+ run stand they had against South Africa.

'Sangakarra 200 grinds India to dust'

Loving the headlines.

Brilliant. But that's pretty much the case. How would a team feel if the opposition was 449/2, scoring at a good click, and a batsmen has just made 200? India won't win this Test. It's just a case now of watching and seeing how long Sri Lanka bat and whether they can break any batting records while doing so.
