Indian Tour of Sri Lanka & Triangular Series, July-August 2010

Sachin 400 would complete his career, not like this match is going anywhere. 300 would be more likely if India want to push for a miracle win.

Suresh Raina > Marcus North.

Any comments?

Wouldn't be judging based on this rubbish pitch. But I wouldn't rate North above many International batsmen anyway.

You think India would want to let SL bat again? Not in my dreams! India should try and bat out the match (if they can). This is the best time to rake up some big milestones (300, 400, etc). Cant see this match going anywhere else but a mega boring draw.

Well doing the maths India would need to score quickly to get enough runs so yea guess its all about the milestone now.

Probably because he doesn't come across as an arrogant snob.

Or maybe because it doesn't look like his diet is comprised entirely of clarified butter.

Maybe a bit of both. I think Raina really deserved this chance. He's done well in ODIs and T20Is, and he's in relatively good form. Hope the selectors see him as a long term option and not just someone who tags along with the Test squad for "experience".

Why is Gambhir sitting out? I bet he is steaming, this pitch might be just what he needed to get back into form a bit.

That NZ batting lineup will probably be the one used in the real match. I would say Tuffey, Southee and Patel are battling for one place, as McKay bowled pretty well in that match.

Where's Nathan McCullum?
Surely he's earned the spinner role more than Patel has

I would hope he plays. Or they could just use Williamson as the spinner

Seems they went with Patel in the first match, and a pace attack with Williamson as the spinner. So I'm guessing he'll get a go in the last match. But I sure hoping that McCullum gets in ahead of Patel. Or, as mentioned, they could just use Williamson.

The way I see it, Guptill, Taylor, Hopkins and Mills are definitely playing. Oram, Watling, Elliott and Williamson are likely. That leaves all the bowlers fighting for 3 spots basically.

Looks like there's a little bit of turn here today and Raina is leaving balls pretty well.

Raina has done very well this match yuvi i think its byeee byeee
