Stupid decision from Doctrove there not to call for the third umpire but at least Jaya's out. Neither Mendis nor Murali can hit the bowlers for 10 runs an over.

You can't just wait for the replay and then refer. He may have made a mistake but they didn't realise it either. Seeing as the referral system is in place to take that responsibility off the umpire, it's totally India's own fault.

There's no referral system in the ODI series.

yeah they make mistakes but not 6 in one game. and all 6 of those would have been given if out if any other umpire was there. thats how bad those decisions were. stop trying to defend a guy that is so blatantly blind and possibly deaf and does not deserve to be an umpire.

Well, honestly, I'm pretty sure that the referral system will come to both ODIs and Tests since it was pretty well received by players and umpires alike in the trial test series that it was used in.

As far as that run out is concerned, it was Munaf Patel's fault too. He had no sense of urgency when removing the bails and his appeal was lackluster at best.

It doesn't matter though, India win easily.:happy

That wasn't my point. I realize that that there will be mistakes with LBWs and catches. However, this was a run out and you have a chance to call for the third umpire, and there was a certain degree of doubt. When there is doubt, you call for the third umpire. That's the argument we were making.

Thank god, I am proved wrong. Impressive stuff by India to come back from a sound thrashing in the 1st game to lead the series 2-1. One more win, and it would be a fantastic achievement for a team that many did not believe could win this series after the threat of mendis/murali and the enviable home record of Sri Lanka.

@ Dhoni criticisers: HE HAS BEEN THE MOST RELIABLE ODI BATSMAN FOR INDIA IN RECENT TIMES after Gautham Gambhir (who has had two failures now in two games)! He plays so cool under pressure, and takes lot of responsibility and steers the team through difficult situations. AWESOME guy! Good 50 from Raina too. Sad that Badri failed today, but I hope he is not sacked for this.

I am very very happy with Zaheer's comeback. He is now bowling like how he used to during his peak days (close to the start of his career). And I agree that Ishant back in, India will have such a good fast bowling attack. Praveen Kumar does well in these conditions where the ball does quite a bit in the air. I feel Praveen will be a good test bowler too where he can bowl for hours at the stumps, and exploit movement, if any
