Zimbabwe Board XI v England A - 50 over List A match 1991/2 - Bulawayo

Pitch: 2A - Dry and Grassless - good for batting

Weather: 9 - Chance of thunderstorms

Toss: Zimbabwe Board XI

Zimbabwe Board XI won the toss and batted first on a good batting pitch, hoping to put up another good score against a struggling England A side.
They immediately lost Shah to Reeve for a duck, but a 143 run stand for the 2nd wicket between Arnott and Carlisle laid a platform for a large total.
Arnott as eventually out just short of a century for a well paced 95, while Carlisle made 53.
Late hitting by an in form Iain Butchart lifted the total to 230/5 off 50 overs, a position the home team would be very happy with at the break.
In reply England collapsed badly against the seamers, falling to 98/6 off 28.3 overs, the match seeming all over.
But allrounders Mike Watkinson and Phil Newport add 89 in 91 balls to put England A back on course.
A brilliant unbeaten 97* off 93 balls with 16 fours and 2 sixes by Watkinson gave England A a chance going into the last 6 overs, requiring 45, but when Newport fell the later batsmen could not maintain the rate.
Watkinson lost strike for the final overs, narrowly missing a century, and his team ended up losing by 17 runs, adding to his disappointment.
It was a wonderful counterracking innings when all seemed over, and for that and his tight 9 over spell, Watkinson was named Man of the Match;

Zimbabwe Board XI won by 17 runs

Man of the Match: M.Watkinson

Zimbabwe Board XI 230/5 (50 overs)
(K.J.Arnott 95, S.V.Carlisle 53, A.C.Waller 24*, I.P.Butchart 44; S.L.Watkin 2-36, P.J.Newport 2-42)

England A 213/9 (50 overs)
(D.A.Reeve 29, M.Watkinson 97*, P.J.Newport 26; D.H.Brain 4-32, J.A.Rennie 2-28, A.H.Shah 2-37)

South Africa Board XI v Pakistan - 50 over List A match 1991/2 - Match Report

Pitch: 1 - Perfect batting wicket

Weather: 1 - Hot and humid

Toss: Pakistan

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first, believing batting conditions good despite the Humid conditions.
They slipped to 93/4 before an 89 run stand for the 5th wicket between Saleem Malik and keeper Moin Khan put them on the road to a sizeable total.
Saleem made a brilliant 96 off 85 balls, scoring with a freedom none of the others managed.
Strydom bowled an accurate spell at the end to take 4 wickets, but Pakistan would have been happy with their eventual total of 241/9 off 50 overs.
Wasim yorked Kirsten in the first over for 2, and there wasn't much fight from many of the others after that, as a tidy display by main Pakistan bowlers kept the pressure on.
Jack Commins kept going for a fighting 72, but Pakistan ran out comfortable 60 run victors as Wasim took 4 wickets and kept a tight reign on the run rate.
Man of the Match was Saleem Malik, his brilliant batting having built a target beyond the home side's reach.

Pakistan won by 60 runs

Planet Cricket - International Cricket - 1991/2 and Onwards[DOUBLEPOST=1507688308][/DOUBLEPOST]One more T20 warmup for Pakistan before the 3 match T20 International series with South Africa begins.

Not sure how many posts have gone missing from this thread due to recent hacks on the site.

Have worked on some games and updated the blog in the meantime, I finished the India A v West Indies A 1st Unofficial 4 day Test in Calcutta.

Here is a brief summary:

@Nitrogen @CerealKiller

India A v West Indies A - 1st Unofficial 4 day Test 1991/2 - Calcutta

Pitch: 22

Toss: West Indies A

Winning the toss and electing to bat on what was a Normal wicket at the time, but would favour spin late in the match, West Indies A piled on the runs.
With everyone making starts, and newly promoted captain Dawnley Joseph making 111, West Indies A cruised to 372/8.
An unbroken 128* run partnership for the 9th wicket between bowlers Perry 77*, and Rose 50*, compounded India A frustrations, taking the score past 500 before the visitors declared.
When India A batted, they found themselves in danger of failing to avoid the follow on at 119/4, before a double century partnership between Gursharan Singh and keeper Nayan Mongia changed the game.
Gursharan continued his magnificent form with 143, while Mongia made the most important runs of his career so far in making 113.
Nehemiah Perry showed impressive stamina and patience in taking 5 wickets for the visitors.
With little time left to force a result, West Indies A and India A's batsmen played out time, with the India A spinners impressing in an improved effort in the short time left.
The match was drawn eventually, with Man of the Match being West Indies A's offspinner Nehemiah Perry for his match double of 77* and 5-167.

India A v West Indies A - 2nd Unofficial 4 day Test - Delhi

West Indies A 86/4 (32 overs)

Though captain Dawnley Joseph made 63, Chanderpaul was the only other batsman to resist the spinners for long in a disappointing effort.
India A well on top, with West Indies A having wasted the best batting conditions of the match.

India A v West Indies A - 2nd Unofficial 4 day Test 1991/2 - Delhi

Pitch: 24

Toss: West Indies A

West Indies A won the toss, but little else went right for them, blowing ideal batting conditions on the first day, fielding poorly, then collapsing in their 2nd innings in a spineless display.
India A offspinner M.Venkataramana took 5-77 on the 1st day as West Indies A were all out for 194, on his way to 8 wickets in the match.
The other bowlers were just as good for India A, and West Indies A were under constant pressure throughout.
India A only needed to bat once, Dravid making 87 to lay a platform, before an unbeaten 141* from captain Ganguly took them to a big lead.
Ganguly's partnership with Venkataramana for the 8th wicket took the game away from the visitors, and more than doubled their lead.
Gray bowled well for West Indies A to take 5-62 with some impressive fast bowling, but there was little else for the visitors to take away from this match.
An innings and 57 run victory handed India A a 1-0 lead in the 5 match series.

India A won by an Innings and 57 Runs

Man of the Match: S.C.Ganguly

West Indies A 194 all out (71.4)
(D.A.Joseph 63, S.Chanderpaul 40, F.A.Rose 32; M.Venkataramana 5-77, N.D.Hirwani 2-24)

Another of these endless warmup games for West Indies A:

BCCI XI v West Indies A - 3 day First Class match - Kanpur

BCCI XI 298 all out (88.3 overs)

(K.Srikkanth 69, R.J.Shastri 84, R.R.Singh 33, C.S.Pandit 38, L.Sivaramakrishnan 25; E.A.Moseley 6-64, H.R.Bryan 2-62)

West Indies A won the toss and sent the BCCI XI in on a Green pitch.
Srikkanth and Shastri made light of the conditions in a 153 run opening stand, that caused the West Indies to question their decision at the toss.
Persistent bowling by the pace bowlers, lead by Moseley with 6-64, saw 10 wickets fall for 145, as none of the later batsmen stuck around as long as the openers.
West Indies A now set out in search of some good quality batting practice on a pitch that has flattened out to Normal.

Score update from England A tour of Zimbabwe:

Zimbabwe Board XI v England A - T20 match - Bulawayo

Zimbabwe Board XI 186/2 (20 overs)
(K.J.Arnott 29, A.H.Shah 94*, S.V.Carlisle 21, A.C.Waller 38*; J.P.Taylor 2-39)

Zimbabwe A won the toss and batted on an excellent batting pitch and made hay against a listless England A attack.
Left arm seamer Paul Taylor took the only 2 wickets before Ali Shah with an unbeaten 94*, and Andy Waller with 38* continued their outstanding form.
It is a good batting wicket, but England A bowled poorly and it would be an upset for them to win it from here.
