Indian Board XI v West Indies - 3 day First Class match - 1991/2 - Kanpur

The Indian Board XI had much the better of a low scoring contest on a below standard pitch.
The pitch was slow on day 1 and favoured the batsmen, before deterioting quickly and favouring the spinners for the rest of the match.
Rain was probably the deciding factor in the end, with West Indies A collapsing to 61/5 with 20 overs left on Day 3.
A 37 minute shower saved the West Indies A batsmen from a tough task on a spinning pitch, and 2 hours rain during the match probably prevented the home side forcing a win.
An outstanding double of 132* and 54* from Gursharan Singh was the highlight of the match, while other notable performances were the allround efforts of S.B.Joshi with 51* and 4-70, and an unbeaten double of 48* and 17* to S.Chanderpaul.
A 50 over match between the same two teams will now follow, followed by the first of 3 Unofficial 50 over internationals.

Indian Board XI 297/5 declared (95.4 overs)
(Gursharan Singh 132*, R.V.Bharadwaj 39, S.S.Dighe 30, S.B.Joshi 51*; R.Dhanraj 2-99)

West Indies A 211 all out (74 overs)
(S.C.Williams 35, R.I.C.Holder 31, K.L.T.Arthurton 28, F.L.Reifer 23, S.Chanderpaul 48*; Gopal Sharma 3-39, S.B.Joshi 4-70)

Indian Board XI 113/4 declared (36.4 overs)
(P.K.Amre 30, Gursharan Singh 54*)

West Indies A 78/5 (40 overs)
(S.C.Williams 37; W.V.Raman 3-5)

Next report to follow will be the South Africa A v Pakistan 3 day First Class match at Harare.

I'm trying to process matches in the order people get their XI's in, but am doing my best to give each manager's team a match in the next couple of days.

South Africa A v Pakistan - 3 day First Class match 1991/2 - Johannesburg - Match Summary

Pitch: 62

Toss: Pakistan

The highlight of the home side's first innings was chanceless centuries to Mark Rushmere and Daryl Cullinan, the pair sharing a 210 run stand for the 3rd wicket at a good rate on a fast pitch.
Pakistan replied strongly with most of their batsmen finding form, before a series of declarations set up a run chase of 200 off 41 overs on a turning pitch.
A superbly paced century by Saeed Anwar carried Pakistan to victory with 2 balls to spare, though being a warmup game, there was little at stake.
The bowling throughout the match by both teams was mostly disappointing, with Imran Khan with 5-48 the noteable exception.

South Africa A 352/7 declared (102.1 overs)
(M.W.Rushmere 158, D.J.Cullinan 111, J.N.Rhodes 38; Imran Khan 5-48)

Pakistan 245/5 declared (87.1 overs)
(Aamer Sohail 58, Rameez Raja 56, Javed Miandad 22, Inzamam-ul-Haq 53*, Imran Khan 41; B.N.Schultz 2-49)

South Africa A 92/5 declared (30.2 overs)
(J.N.Rhodes 30, B.M.McMillan 30; Waqar Younus 2-9)

Pakistan 200/1 (40.4 overs)
(Saeed Anwar 102*, Aamer Sohail 36, Rameez Raja 57*)

Pakistan won by 9 wickets.

Man of the Match: Saeed Anwar

South Africa A v Pakistan - 50 over List A match - Cape Town - Match Preview

Pitch: 5 - Normal

Weather: 2 - Hot and Sunny

A Normal pitch greets the two teams for the 50 over List A warmup match between South Africa A and Pakistan at Cape Town.
A good chance for the Pakistan management to give some of their reserves and fringe players a run.
With another 3 day warmup, and 50 over warmup to come before the ODI and Test series begin, both sides will be following the form in these matches closely.

Injuries:

Aamer Sohail - 2 matches - Pulled muscle in back
Javed Miandad - 1 match - Fall in hotel, ankle injured

@NaviN GandhI
Please name your XI for this match in batting order, bearing in mind the 2 injuries, and state whether you want Bat, or Bowl.

Here is the pitch and weather for Pakistan A's first game, a 3 day First Class match v the ACB Chairman's XI in Perth, the first of two 3 day warmups before the series v Australia A begins.

ACB Chairman's XI v Pakistan A - 3 day First Class match - Perth 1991/2

Pitch: 95 - Dry, dusty and bumpy. This is a poor quality wicket, unsuitable for a five day match and the batsmen look to be in for a torrid time. The bounce is likely to be varied but generally high, fast bowlers are likely to prosper. If the lack of moisture in the pitch causes it to crumble later in the match as is expected it may become potentially dangerous.

Day 1 Pitch: 6A - Hard pitch with excessive bounce - favours all bowlers.

Weather: 2 - Hot and Sunny

Sri Lanka A v West Indies - 3 day First Class match 1991/2 - Premadasa Stadium Colombo

Pitch: 62

Toss: West Indies

West Indies achieved a comprehensive 10 wicket victory over a disappointing Sri Lanka A lineup midway through day 3, on a pitch which turned, but otherwise was not difficult to bat on.
A century to Brian Lara, and fifties to Richardson and Adams set up a strong 1st innings for the visitors, a position of strength they never surrendered.
Lead by Curtly Ambrose with match figures of 7-39, the West Indies kept the young Sri Lankan batsmen under pressure throughout with an excellent all round bowling and fielding effort.
There were few positives for the home side, while all of the West Indies players found some form in a perfect beginning to their tour.

West Indies 320/6 declared (83 overs)
(D.L.Haynes 28, R.B.Richardson 62, B.C.Lara 125, J.C.Adams 58; G.F.Labrooy 2-45)

Sri Lanka A 147 all out (60.4 overs)
(S.T.Jayasuriya 21, E.A.R.de Silva 26, G.F.Labrooy 20; C.E.L.Ambrose 3-21, B.P.Patterson 2-31, J.C.Adams 2-9)

Sri Lanka A 174 all out (57.4 overs)
(H.P.Tillakaratne 44, S.T.Jayasuriya 27; C.E.L.Ambrose 4-18, C.A.Walsh 3-36)

West Indies 4/0 (1 over)

West Indies won by 10 wickets

Man of the Match: B.C.Lara

Toss: Pakistan

Pakistan's total of 236/8 off 50 overs was set up by a 157 run 3rd wicket partnership between Shoaib Mohammad 71, and Saleem Malik 85.
With Wasim Akram contributing a hard hitting 26* of 17 balls at the end, Pakistan were well placed at the break.
Wasim's form continued, as he ran through the South Africa A lineup to claim 4-19 off his 10 overs.
The other bowlers were tidy, as only Rushmere with 47 threatened to break their grip.
In the end a late collapse hand Pakistan a comfortable 97 run victory, but tight bowling meant the match was over long before the end.

Indian Board XI v Pakistan - 50 over List A match - Nagpur - Match Summary

Pitch: 5 - Normal

Toss: Indian Board XI

Set up by powerful innings from Devang Gandhi and Gursharan Singh, who shared a fast paced 145 run partnership for the 3rd wicket, the Indian Board XI coasted to 261/9 off their 50 overs.
The West Indies A spinners found some turn, but at the halfway mark the home team would have fancied their chances.
West Indies A openers started well, but the spinners kept the middle order quiet, and only a hard hitting 51 off 48 balls by middle order batsman Floyd Reifer threatened to cut the margin of defeat.
As it was, tight spin bowling, and 4-23 to medium pacer Paris Mhambrey handed the Indian Board XI an easy 80 run victory.
