I would like to start a league featuring the 9 Test and ODI nations playing in 1991/2 and carrying the league as forward through the seasons for as long as possible.
Managers may come and go as the seasons progress and new players will make their debuts and be available for selection much as in real life.
I will simulate the games using Owzat Games/Lambourne Games International Cricket using an Excel Helper to speed up the process.
The schedule for the league will be similar to real life with some extra series and tours added here and there to fill up the calendar.
There will be Test, ODI and T20 tours in the schedule, and also some A Tours featuring fringe players and 3 and 4 day Tour matches during Test tours.
I will be using a player's unique card to simulate all matches, mostly rated on their Test average and strike rate.
Some players who were unlucky and didn't play many Tests have had their ratings boosted to take into account good First Class careers, South African opener Mark Rushmere for example should average in the 30s in this game.
Michael Bevan fans will not be so happy, as his Test stats will be used for all matches in this game, maybe not realistic but that is how this game works.
For now I would like managers to sign up by stating which of the 9 teams who played in the 1992 World Cup they would like to manage through the 1991/2 season.
The season highlight will no doubt be the 50 over World Cup in Australia and New Zealand later in the season.
