IPL Fixing.

I feel sorry for many of you Indian fans, you guys are the reason Srinivasan and co make so much money from the game and yet I get the feeling he would physically step on you if he could. I can't see any way in which they will cancel this years tournament, there is simply just far too much money to be made. Whether its clean or not, I don't think they could care less.

Lets see. There is talk that the Supreme Court will force Srinivasan to quit by naming a guy to replace him. There could be some massive cleanup in the pipeline.

I am keeping fingers crossed! I know with Indian cricket, its hard to be optimistic, but with all the happening in recent times, I have a feeling its reaching a stage where something is going to break up and Indian cricket will go through its customary cleanse (even if its temporary).

I still think we are underestimating the amount of power Srinivasan has in the system. Even if he quits as a president of BCCI, I still think he will be indirectly connected to the board. This picture probably sums him up.

I can't stop laughing. This post is old but it is the mother of laughter :lol

I agree with SaiSrini's point. Matches are not being played in Sharjah anymore as it is the fixing hub. Why shift IPL to UAE and Sharjah? I don't understand if they are trying to clean IPL or make it IFL officially (Indian Fixing League)

SC proposals to ?#?BCCI?: To suspend ?#?CSK? and ?#?RR? from IPL-7. And to replace ?#?Srinivasan? with Sunil Gavaskar. BCCI asked to respond tomorrow

^ ya they are also proposing to put sunny as chief in the meanwhile.Im pretty sure something is murky with srini otherwise he wouldnt be trying to hold on to the seat wretchedly, if he was clean he could have easily stepped down and let others do the job like this have a feeling something big is going to come out.

I gues he'll still be adamant as ever. But according to this -
going the appeal way - through review or curative petitions - might not prove to be helpful, a senior BCCI official well versed with the legal procedures told ESPNcricinfo

OFcourse there is something fishy with that wretched man. His son-in-law is involved with betting.

He is not letting go easily because he is a greedy pig. Politics in India is a power game. Once you are not in a position of power, it is not easy to come back. And if he is kicked out as BCCI head, there will be serious question marks on him heading ICC which was the supposed plan. Kursi ka zor (The might of the chair)

The ECB and CA can't let a man who is being forced to resign from the BCCI because he tweaked up a match-fixing investigation become head of the ICC. If they do; then they'll have a revolt on their hands!

Dhoni's got a role with them - does that mean that he may be forced out as captain?

If you're asking about CSK then they may get suspended so he won't play.

But I don't really think that his role in Indian team and it's management will change much. He's already filed a 100cr defamation case on Zee media.

100cr defamation case or not this is what proves he is guilty, may be not of match fixing or betting but lying to the most superior court regarding Meya whatever's role in CSK team. Lying about a crime is a crime itself. If any day Dhoni is proved to be guilty I will stop watching Indian cricket and wish they die a slow painful death. IPL or no IPL players like Dravid Tendulkar would have not lied about their franchise owners if caught. In fact when things about Rajasthan Royals came up, Dravid said he was embarrassed knowing the fact he was leading the side and had no clue. Has even Dhoni spoken to press or any one regarding this matter? It sums up for me to conclude MSD is a partner in crime if not the only one

The judges were surprised to learn that Dhoni also happened to be a vice-president of India Cements and were presented with documentary proof of Dhoni's appointment.

Also, I am really happy to see Supreme Court of India has stepped up and once again made the best decision. Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings franchise should be scrapped and a fresh bidding should take place. Meya whatever should be sent to Jail along with Raj Kundra. Srini is a powerful man so a case against him or evidence against him isnt possible but what I feel is that a CBI prob should be made and truth should be found out. They all losers should rot in hell for corrupting Indian Cricket. To be very honest Indian government should ban BCCI completely as its a private organization and they dont even have rights to call their team INDIA. There should be a government organization. Money or no money, I would like to see India lose without any money then see freaking players and board caught up in this mess

Corruption is not something exclusive to Cricket and all sports at some point or the other have been hit by corruption. However no sport has ever suspended the league for a season. Leagues cannot be stop start in nature, and that totally hits their brand value. Athletics is perpetually riddled with doping, with so many high profile athletes involved, and not just athletics, so many sports, but those sports are not put in hold. Recently Malaysian football had people bribing the referees to influence matches, but those leagues were not given a year off.

Sure of course punish the guilty but a league cannot be stopped for year because someone cheated or is corrupt. It will totally lose its brand value.
