Is Andrew Flintoff a one series wonder?

ponting has lead aus to 2 victories against world XI..do u guys think Vaughan shud hav skippered world XI? he aint a good one day batsman at all

Vaughan is a good test captain, but I wouldn't pick him or the ODI's! He seems like a better bowler than a batter in them :P

Not personally, no. But it's sad England can't find a talent like him
in it's own country so they wouldn't need KP in the side,
being half Pom myself, I'd prefer a Brit, but if England doesn't have
the talent in its reserves, so be it.
So you'd say it's sad Australia have to pick players from other countries too?

Just to remind you, I did say he was one of the best.
I wasn't bagging Flintoff, sure I pointed out he got zero wickets
in the first match, but it doesn't mean I'm bagging him, I just thought
that was strange. Flintoff only getting 1 wicket in the second match
is just as strange, he is supposed to be one of the best, but so far it
doesn't seem he can bowl well in Australia, time will tell us both though.

No offence, but that's bollocks mate.
If that were true he wouldn't have had so much pressure on him to
step aside, even during the Ashes. Honestly I think Trescothick should
have the job, but that's just my opinion.

Not sure why you brang this up, but I'm half Brit, half Scott and 70% of
Australians have European background, we all know this, so if you want
to be silly enough to do so, go ahead mate. ;)

Take care dude...

I never expected Freddie to perform in this series with the ball, as he had such a busy summer.

Vaughan is a much better captain than Trescothick.

So on the basis of that 3rd paragraph then, Andrew Symonds shouldn't be playing for Australia?

And on the last paragraph, i'm silly enough allready :p

I've never understood why anybody would have a problem with KP playing for England.

As his mother is English, in any other sport, he wouldn't even have to serve a residential qualification!

Does Andy Symonds have any Australian in him?

Born in Birmingham and his parents are West Indian aren't they?

Exactly. KP is more English than Symonds is Australian.

Also, people seem to have this image of the ECB scanning south african cricket trying to find players.

Note that KP left South Africa of his own accord, giving up 4 possible years of international cricket.

Cricket has some of the strictiest qualification criteria of any sport. As I mentioned earlier, KP wouldn't have had to serve a residential qualification in any other sport.

The ICC are so strict on qualification, that Canada were prevented from picking someone born in Canada for the ICC Trophy this year!

whats this thread about?? flintoff ??? i dont think so

andy caddick was born in NZ, roger twose was born in Eng, Adam n Ben Hollioake r aus born as well

Graeme Hick - Zimbabwe.

Look at Rugby Union, Mark van Gisbergen has just recently qualified to play for England (New Zealand born) and has been selected in the Autumn International's squad. I havn't seen any fuss about this and he's a quality player.

A point you obviously can't understand. The point is why is cricket so negative towards the issue, when other sports are capable of accepting it.
